hey i've been try to make my first map, but each time i try to make a map the mission editor crashes saying "could not initalize remaining engine features"
could it be because im using vista?
The map editor can work in Vista, but this problem is usually related to the graphics card not being able to render the way the mission editor needs to. It is funny, but the game can work but sometimes the editor can't. I know others who have fought with the same problem without success, but there is a chance you still can. You have the latest DC patches, right? Next I would check your system tray to see if there is anything running that doesn't need to, that might be in conflict with the editor. If you still have trouble, now try changing your screen resolution and refresh rate, trying different combinations. If it is still not working, try changing your computer's performance settings between maximum performance and appearance. If you have tried all that and it still isn't working, I'm afraid I have run out of ideas. Perhaps someone else will post something, but it could be that you will not be able to map with that computer.
Imho you're most likely running an integrated video card. Those things never could run the editor. Which is actually more demanding than the game by a grim margin.
thanks guys it seems that my integrated graphics card can't handle the editor i'll have to wait until i get my big computer set up again, but at least i can still edit the races. p.s is there anyway to edit the campaign (like changing the cut scenes and meta map) reddragon
WELL... Corsix Mod Studio lets you change everything datawise.
