For all of you that thought you couldn't play a decent skirmish game because the demo couldn't let you choose what level, team color, etc. I have a solution for you. What I did was: Using Corsix's SGA reader I extracted everything I could from the DXP folder. Then I put all of those files into a mod's data folder.The only problem that I had was that the Sound and Music files could not extract which means when playing as the Tau from the expansion pack demo everything that makes a noise makes a really high pitched beeping noise in place, also none of the units had the correct names, also some of the abilities didn't show up,and the last problem was that the Computer wasn't playing.But those might just be temporary problems for the time being. And one more thing, the Space Marines have had there Force Commander redone. By doing this You can use the new units that were available in the Demo in a standard WA Skirmish Game or Make a cool new desert themed Skirmish map. So does anyone know how to extract muic and sound files?

wow thts awesome man....prolly illegal but awesome, do you mind explaining 2 me what i have 2 do, im not veyr gud with this stuff, or even better sat a d/l 4 the folder or sumtin.

Kendall2000: About it being illegel, I don't believe it is because, 1) I am not calling it my own and 2) I am not a profit in any way whatsoever wesel: This is assuming you installed everything into its default folder. 1) Get Corsix's SGA reader from filefront 2) After installing, go to file, then open and then go up two folders (you should now be in C:/program files/ thq/ ) You should now see your Dawn of War folder and the Dawn of war Demo folders. 3)Click on the Dawn of War - Dark Crusade Demo folder then the DXP2 (or something like that) folder. 4) You should now see 5 SGA files. 5) The ones that you can export are I belive the 1st, 3rd, and 5th ones or just dont try the ones that say Sound or Music because they will not export for some reason beyond my controll. 6) You must export them one at a time into this Location: C:/program files/ thq/ 7) BERFORE YOU EXPORT THE SECOND SGA FILE: Move the folders you just exported into the data folder of your choise ( I recomend putting them in the Necrons Mod Data folder to give you a more DoW:DC feel) 8) Do the same for the next two sets of folders from the SGA files. 9) If you are prompted to overwrite the current files, say Yes to all. 10) If done correctly, you should have the Tau race playable in the Mod you chose. THINGS TO REMEMBER: When Choseing a Mod to put the files in, Don't Choose Depth of Heresy as You will not have the Machine Cult if You are to play as the Space Marines You can no longer play This online DO NOT PUT THE FILES IN THE ORIGINAL DAWN OF WAR FOLDERS ( W40K and WXP) AS IT CAN RUIN YOUR GAME you probably wont have a working AI in game so you will have to find another way to get it because I don't know how to do that yet but I am Working On it and I will post the solution to that if I find out how to fix it. That's All for now but I am still Looking for the ways to extract the Music and Sound files, andhow to fix the AI. if anyone knows how Please tell me.

i used the skrimish ai mod just replace it with the ai of the folder

You should now be able to use the Tau from the Demo. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW 1)DO NOT PUT THE FILES IN THE ORIGINAL DAWN OF WAR FOLDERS (WH40K AND WXP) AS IT CAN POSSIBLY RUIN YOUR GAME. 2) This will probably ruin your game AI which means when playing a game the computer will just sit there and do nothing. I have no solution for this yet. 3)You cannot play this online as others will probably not have the tau stuff. 4)If you have the Mission Editor You can make some Desert themed maps. 5) Without the music and sound files the will be a high pitched beeping noise when a pereson talks (tau only) I have no solution for this either. Thats all for now if there is something new I will post it in this thread. If anyone else knows how to extract the music and sound files or how to fix the AI problem Please tell me.

you can excract thre the sound files just using the mod packager that come with the mod tools

right after excracting the sound files from the folder place the extracted version in the data folder that will get rid of the annoying noise (had the same problem with my mod a while back)
