I recomend corsixs mod studio, all you have to do is select for what version of dawn of war you want to make the mod for, and create a new mod, and it makes all the folders as you change stuff. then once oyu have made it and are trying to select it again or select another mod, just select the module file once you press open.

First off, relax. Breathe. No one, and I do mean no one, gets it right the very first time. Or even the second or third sometimes. Developing a good set of modding skills takes time. Every time you mod the game, you will learn something new. Even if all you learn this time is what does not work.

Next, start with something small. Like changing a texture or a weapon damage sprite. It will be a little frustrating when it does not do exactly what you want, but it will be a start. Two things need to be pointed out here:

1) Patience really is a virtue.

2) Double check your work.

Something as small as a comma one space off from where it should be can CTD your game and make a complete re install necessary. I'll guarantee that the people who've made something like Steel Legion or Inquisition Demonhunt did not know everything they needed to when they started modding.

Go back and read all of the files that come with the modding tools completely. Does your install have the correct official patches? Are you modding a stock game or trying to add things to your custom install which may not be compatible?

Modding takes time and a good eye for small details. It is always the small details which cause the bigger problems. Don't be discouraged. Just put your head down and keep digging. It does get easier with time.

Looking forward to D/Ling your mod.
