front.jpg Hello. I am hoping to create a mod that would bring Games Workshop's newest Imperial guard regiment into Dark crusade. Now i know that i am but one among dozens of mods that are springing up now a days and i know that i but a small amount of expierence in modding. But that aside i am determined to at least try to bring this regiment into the game. What orginaly attracted me to the Vostroyan's (besides being a guard enthusiast) Is their unique look and feel. The Vostroyans are a proud and powerful people, originating from the bombed out industrial planet of Voystroya. They were first featured in GW's Cities of Death campaign. Their is also a book written about them but i dont remeber the title. They are all trained perfusely and have one of the highest mortality rates among the guard. The Vostroyans also are heavily trained in urban combat and excel in mellee, a trait rarely seen among the guard. I was thinking that that could be shown in DC by giving them higher mellee attack upgrades. Honor to them is a huge thing, many prefering to die rather than flee in combat. The Voystroyans equip themselves with many unique weapons manufactured on their planet. They use a unique knife called the Long Knife (creative name eh) a 10 inch long mono-molecular blade (correct me if im wrong on what its made of) with a slight curve and serated edge. Many of the lasguns feature extened stocks made of a certain wood on their planet (once again i apoligize for any inacuracies. I took my book on them and went and lost it tongue.gif) that is as hard as ceramite. The Voystroyan also feature several unique tanks that i will post in the end. My plans for this mod would be to bring them in as a full race (such as steel legion) but failing that ( as i know that full race mods take a long time and huge amounts of effort and a team of seriouse modders)will end up as adding a few units to the DC. But i hope to not end up as many of the mods today who are started by people who basicly done even realy know what they want to do. I have a clear defined goal and am allready working on a tech tree. I myself can offer voice acting and information on the Vostroyans. Thanks to the inhospitable climate of Vostroya, the Firstborn are trained in the most adverse of conditions. Amidst the jutting skeletal spars of half-collapsed warehouses, the wind howling along rust-pocked alleyways, the Firstborn learn the skills of close-quarter combat and strict firing drills. Some do not survive such a harsh regime, but those that do are proud to be counted amongst the hardiest fighters in the Imperial Guard. Their ancient pact drives them onwards, instilling them with a stubbornness, courage and fortitude rarely seen outside the Adeptus Astartes. The Vostroyans reserve a disdain for those Imperial Guard regiments they perceive to be less devoted than themselves, although that can sometimes include a great many of their allies. But should the Vostroyans' respect be gained, they are comrades anyone would be proud to have.

Reconnaissance squad (basically will act as scouts- start off with lasguns can be equipped with snipers) B. Command squad (details still hazy but will act like imperial guard) C. Magos Tech priests (can only train 2 but can build faster and can have combat servitors with research) (also have increased melee capabilities) Upgrades- Honor doctrines (increase morale and slightly increases health and damage) Can be upgraded to 2nd tier, 3rd tier ect. 2. Im thinking of some masively powerfull artillery piece but we'll see.

Can be upgraded with sergeant) (will have more health, better morale and stronger melee attack than normal guardsmen. Can have up to 13 Firstborns and 1 sergeant. # of heavy weapons varies with upgrades. The backbone of your forces - Just have them with Plasma guns and Grenade launchers, Give them a slightly better armour (Without upgrades of course) to start off with. Keep them in a 5-10 squad limit with Sergeant upgrades. If not, it will just be too over-powered, I like the idea of better Combat fighting.

I agree its just in DOW you can upgrad ethe squad to 13 with 2nd tier but since their stronger than normal guardsman B. thanks for the advice vasilil. You had some really good ideas. hey if you know how to model or do code or even draw well for concept art we could use u for the team

I'm a artist and study art in college. Sadly I dont have a Scanner so I cant :( However I'm a mapper and could make maps, give Fluff as well.
