Ok, I've done some searching and I have a big question. Is there any easy, one-program, non time intensive/system killing way to get the music from DoW in a format that the windows media player can read? All the other ways that I've seen involve you downloading twenty programs and adding system files to obscure places just to have the program tell you you need another program. I'm begging you, is there any way to make this easier? Is there a way to extract the file and have it ready to be used? Or, is there an easy way to convert the .fda files directly into mp3s? Yes I'm asking alot, but I want to cover all the areas. Even if you blow me off, I thank you for your time anyway.
I didn't make it!
i too would like that, but i want all the speech files in wav or mp3 or mwa or something, but i dont think there is an easy way ive looked for ages but found nothing, just either go through the endless list or go withour, like i do. you could always turn all the other sounds down and record it with a mic, :p
Well, yes, I could record it with a mic, but going off past experience, it won't have the same quality. That and at the rate telemarketers have been calling me . . . well, the necron music just wouldn't sound the same. Needless to say, I could pull it off, but would rather get it some other way.
I remember my brother doing something.. After endless hours of google searching :p
sorry for necro
but after a 5 minute search Relic Forums - Guide: Converting DoW/WA Music
Yeah, I saw that thread before I posted this. It's one of the reasons I posted this thread in the first place. I know it will work, i just don't want to mess around with it. I keep thinking I'll screw up some important system file and lose everything. I might try it in the future, but for now my pc is too new for me to want to risk it. I'm not paranoid, I just spent a lot of money fixing this thing and upgrading it. Perhaps some one out there has the music already converted and would care to upload it? Not just for me mind you, but for the comunity in general.
