Well, they're not showing up because you have them saved as the wrong sizes. Badges have to be 64x64 pixels and banners have to be 64x96 pixels. Check IBBoard's site for the tutorial. http://skins.hiveworldterra.co.uk/FAQ/BannersAndBadges.html

I think your problem is here:

microsoft resize pictures tool

I'd never touch MS Picture It or any other MS paint packages with a barge pole :D One possibility is that it's resizing and constraining proportions (so making sure it doesn't get stretched one way or the other but instead keeps its shape). If you want it to keep its shape, you need to alter the canvas size rather than the image size, although I don't know if the MS program will do that.

If not, you'll need to either get a trial of one of the main art programs (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, anything like that) or get the free program The Gimp - not as user-friendly as some, but almost as powerful as Adobe Photoshop.

Depends what the badge and banner are. Post some screenies once you've got them working (preferably resized and compressed JPGs) and we can take a look at them :)

I recommend the GIMP. I personally love the interface, and found my way around it in no-time. Download a copy of it (link in IBBoard's message) and use it to create more sparkling badges and banners. I look forward to seeing your work :)
