one quick thing how do i get my camer all the way down like in some of the screen shots also how do i get mods to work?

Go into options and you should find 3d camera or something like that, just turn it on and your done.

yeah in dawn of war orignal ist automaticly on in wa and dc you have to do it your self

As well as turning the 3D camera on, I always go to controlls and turn inverse pan off, I HATE inverse on RTSes

beleve it or not, it is panninig inversly to the movement of the mouse

yea, inverse pan is (when you move the mouse up, the screen goes down) kinda thing, Its good for flight games or for some FPS games, but not for RTS. but what were you doing wrong with the mods? not going to the manager and clicking on them? lol
