right, I managed to reinstall both games and they're working fine now, except for one thing. when I try to play online, it says this-

"the online lobby system has disconnected. there may be some connection issues between you and the online lobby server. check your internet connection, firewall and router."

this is after I try to log in to my account. I have checked all 3 andthey're all fine. im completely stuck here, help me.

I'll guess you don't have a firewall then.

Where are you? Because the UK has had some connectivity issues to the US recently, especially on BT (and I've had some issues on Wanadoo/Orange). It could be that.

I don't know whether it's cleared by now, but BT were definitely having problems connecting to websites. There's a multi-page thread about it (from a hosting perspective) over on WebHostingTalk.com

It was just an idea, though. I've never played online, so I've never experienced any issues.
