Ok so, I got this crappy new internet because after about five-six months of my parents refusing to pay for it. I finally get it, Netzero G3. Whatever the hell 'G3' stands for, the damn thing is more annoying than getting flayed spammed by some dweeb. Every half an hour or so, this pop up comes up saying something around, 'You have been idle for more than blah blah, for the safety of your account, your connection will be disconnected.' Gives your forty five seconds to click 'Resume' so it stays connected. Now I do all this, and I wouldn't mind doing it. But the problem is, whenever it pops up, DoW stops responding. Sometimes, very rarely, I manage to get back in. But most of the time I'm forced to open task manager and end the game. Since I mostly play online, you can imagine how annoying it must be. I keep leaving in the middle of games and my mates are getting irritated. I sent two angry letters at Netzero. One including the word 'assholes' and other profanity. The other using emotional blackmail. Apparently, you can't turn the stupid pop ups off, so now I ask help from the DoW community. Since I don't know who else I could ask. Please, any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Try calling the company on any tips on how to do so.

I was going to do, but you need a credit card. Cheap bastards charge you $1.95 a minute for tech support on the phone.

Can't you get another provider, for the same price? The one you have now just seems fishy.

Probably, but since I had to save up for that one, it might take a while. I'll just sell something. Like my old Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Kids still like those it seems. In the meantime though, I need a way to stop this damn pop up. I actually had it yesterday, it would come up, I'd click resume and click on the DoW tab. Nothing special, just the normal routine. I think it might just be my computer that makes it lag and stop responding.

the problem might not be your isp, it might be in your router.

open up your router's setup page and check to see if there is an option to keep your connection alive enable this option.

to open your routers setup page you need to fire up your browser and type in your routers gateway address usually http://192.168.1.1 or on some it's 10.1.1.0

if you are unsure as to what your routers address is hit the run button in the start menu and then type CMD this will bring up a DOS type screen type in here IPCONFIG this will bring up some text about your network, what you need is the default gateway address, this will be the address that your router uses, type this into your browser address bar and you should gain access to your router then it's juts a matter of entering your name and password to gain acess (usually this is left at the default level when the router is setup so usually the name you use would be admin with a password of either admin or 1234).

I hope that this is of some help to you

Cursing, even in e mail, will not get you very far. They will be more prone to not helping you that way using the cheap old gimmicks like, "check your router lulz" even if it is their fault.

But listen to rayrayzza, as that seems to be the problem to me also.

NetZero Support - Value-priced Internet Service Provider - ISP - Free, low-cost and HiSpeed Internet Access.- Free Dial Up Internet Service - High Speed ISP - Net Zero Internet Provider - Netzero.com Found this on their help page. F. Are you experiencing timed disconnections? If you are a Free user and it seems you are disconnected every 20 - 30 minutes, you just need to interact with the ZeroPort a little more. Any activity will do, such as clicking on ad, clicking on a search button, customize your settings, or even moving the ZeroPort to another place on your screen. This periodic interaction with ZeroPort will ensure that you are not disconnected from NetZero. Access to NetZero is free - thanks to the support of our advertisers. Because of their investment, they need assurance that someone is interacting with the ZeroPort. The only way that we can ensure our advertisers of this interaction is if NetZero members periodically interact with the ZeroPort. We understand that notifying the ZeroPort of your presence takes a little getting use to, but it is the most efficient and reliable way for us to keep our Internet services free. If you are being disconnected every 10 minutes, then you need to upgrade your NetZero software. To upgrade to our latest version, click here.
