When I play DoW multiplayer, I can login and join a game just fine, but when starting the game comes the trouble. When everyone "clicks-in" to start the game, the loading screen will come up and finish to where it says "waiting fo other players". But that's it, it just then sits there and doesn't do anything (the game doesn't freeze up, it's fine), and I doubt that it's the other players having problems/taking a long time. Now about hosting/creating a game. When I try to do that, anyone can join and usually the slots fill up fast, but when everyone goes to click in, the everyone (including me) is forced out of the game and I'm given a message similar to: you were forced out of the game due to connection problems or network connection problems.

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!

I am not techie at all but is your firewall active> What internet speed are you on and does your PC at elast meet the minimum requirements? I played a game the other day where it went to the waiting for other players screen and it just sat there. What had happened is that my Internet connection had dropped. So I ahd to reconnect and restart the game. This was during a thunder storm :uhoh: Sounds to me like you have some problem with the net. When you are hosting a game and it's filled up. Once all have ticked in and you start the game, does it attempt to start up and then kick you out?

Oh and karkinlite, xena was asking for help, there is no need go calling them dumb... there might be an actual problem.

I was gonna put that on my first post, but I guess I forgot. I do have a firewall, but I've tried DoW multiplayer with and without it on. I have a top-of-the-line gaming computer that more than meets the game's requirements and I have a DSL Internet connection. I was pretty sure that it has to be a problem with the router, but I'm not sure of what to do.

Routers are known to cause problems with Gamespy/DoW gaming due to the NAT (Network Address Translation - the bit that lets your one Internet IP be shared by multiple computers attached to the router, while each computer only gets the return info it should). One of the patches may have improved things (I've not paid too much attention to that side of things) or people may have found alternatives. I know there's a P2P-type system that some people use, but, again, I've never used it so I don't know how it works or how good it is, and I can't even remember its name!

Yes, my game is patched to the 1.5 version. I understand what IBBoard is saying, but I'm defiantly not the only person with a router. What I'd like to know is what the people with difficult routers use to play DoW multiplayer. Is there something I can change with my router's settings or do I maybe need a seperate program?
