fairly recently i found that whenever i center the camera on anything containing a unit (DoW) the sound totally lags/reverbs out - it didn't use to do this... i have a sound blaster audigy card and my computer waaaaaaaaaaaaay exceeds the minimum specs - i play on highest graphics with no lag. any ideas on how to fix it?
eeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr no clue, try lowering your settings with regads to sound detail. graphics should have nothing to do with it.
o ya i just remembered it was right after i installed WA that this problem arose... i tried lowering sound quality and that made it worse....
maby its your speakers but that wouldn't be the case would it...maby you should find updates for your card and download them or just reinstall dow
i dont think its speakers cause the sound is good when nothing is on the screen (only terrain) and anyway i use either surround sound headphones or a 540W stereo. ill try updating drivers and see if that fixes it - ive tried reinstalling dow and that didn't work Edit: ok i updated my sound drivers but still i get that reverb/lag whenever i centre on a unit so im kinda clueless here... any suggestions would be appreciated
sounds to me like your Sound Card is over heating. i have an X-Fi and it does it sometimes when ive been playing for awhile. other wise you can run DXDiag and turn down your audio acceleration. if that doesnt work it could be your RAM is bad ( this happend to me) google memtest and run it if the other options dont work.
er... what he said but also think about closing some things down on the task bar (anti virus, etc..) may cause lagg and mess up sound?
that would work 2. or....this would be very rare your video card is going out/CPU/Mobo find some diagnostics to run. (i have bad luck with comp hardware cuz i overclock too much :( )
the sound worked perfectly until i installed WA, it was after that the sound got screwed up. and its right from when i load the map that the sound reverbs, and only when i center on a unit, and it goes away if i zoom in. my sound card didn't fix it (i got it after this started) and its only in DoW that this happens, not WA, (dont have DC yet, getting it in a few days)
so far ive tried everything i can think of but it still doesnt work.
eh... have you tried reinstalling? that could have something to do with it. other than that it sounds like your RAM. or an outdated driver. update your mobo driver/vid card driver/Sound driver
