Well i have abit of a problem as when i download a zip file i have no idea how to get it to work.... i extract the file into dawn of war files but i then have no idea of how to get it to work its just the zip and rar files that i cant get to work...i get on fine with the other types iv asked my mate who also goes on yet he has no idea also:bawl: need your great guidance peeps :bawl:
Download Winrar- its free! There is a 30 day trial limit, after which their is no obligation to purchase, but it's only fair after all the good work they do. Download it here: http://www.freedownloadhq.com/winrar.asp?s=gouk&a=winrar
You've extracted them in to the Dawn of War directory? If so (and if you've extracted them to the correct location) then they should work the same way as other files from then on. The only difference between a Mod installer and a zipped Mod is that you have to extract it to the correct place using something like WinZip or WinRar rather than the installer app.
What files are you trying to use? Mods, badges and banners, maps?

well mods and maps but i was told to download the files to c:/documents and settings\Owner\Start Menu\Programs\THQ\Dawn of war and use the "extract all" option on the zip file into the document i mentioned above, this works for the .exe files but not the zip files.... Iv had this game for ages yet i only started downloading mods so its abt confusing... Any chance you could giv me a breif walkthrough of how you do it? :deal: would help alot if you could dude :deal:
don't know who told you to put the files there but they are dead wrong...Its more like C:/Program files/THQ/Dawn of war/. Un-fortuantely most mods and such require different ways of installing. Some are self installers, so you just extract them to your desktop and double tap the exe. and some require you to place the files yourself. Most downloaded mods/badges/banners or maps come with a readme file that tells you how to install them correctly. Your best bet is just to read this for anything you download.
Ok thanks u lot for ye help i found the file i have to download to :deal: thanks for all your help
Yeah, reading the readme is always the best answer - as long as the person making the file was sensible enough to include one!
As for the path you were told before, I don't have a clue what that person was on! What Omagic said is the correct path (assuming you left it at default install path)
