If you are having trouble connecting to any Elite force 2 servers eg. it sits at awaiting gamestate or just doesnt connect then you need to add these lines of code below to your autoexec.cfg file for EF2:
set sv_master1 ef2master.activisionblizard.com set sv_master2 ef2master.activision.com
The original EF2 master is broken and is causing alot of people problems with joining servers (the game sits at awaiting gamestate and goes no further and sometimes doesnt even connect).
The use of the first new master server above eliminates this problem. People must add those lines in their autoexec.cfg files so that the server list comes from the new master server.
EF2 server hosts must also add those lines to their hosted servers configuration file so that their servers can be seen by the new master server.
Thanks goes to Chrissstrahl for pointing this out to me and reasuring me that it was not just my internet connection causing this problem.

If you can't find a autoexec.cfg file some where don't worry, it's not shipped with the game!
Here(please refer to the attachment) you have one which includes these two lines, all you have to do is to place it at the correct location...
Please place the file with the extension .pk3 into your EF2 base folder. The Elite Force II 'base' folder is located within the Game directory, you need to go to the location you have installed the game. EXAMPLE: c:\games\activision\EF2\base\
In this folder there are more files with the extension .pk3, also the file 'pak0.pk3' if you can't find your base folder simply search for the file 'pak0.pk3' or your local hard drive(s).
I didn't make it!
Is there any way to add the new auth server to to the config? I mean there wouldnt be a new server if they didnt want us to use the new server? Or is it the same server with different domains...?
im gonna check that..
EDIT: they are different servers
