I noticed in the file for the "Type 21 shuttle" that in the comments section several people were warned for posting their clan tags. Because it is against the rules, I read the rules...it says no advertising sites or other forums, not no advertising clans. Now its one thing if the person has it in their name and places it in their post, but at least one of the people that did it had a totally different username from their clan name. Its not advertising because it doesn't include a link to another site or forum, its just two-three letters with a name beside it. Most clan sites I've seen you would have to know what those letters stand for to know the site address. So the excuse of "no advertising" doesn't hold up. Because its NOT ADVERTISING, its letting people know who you are known as in the game. Say I saw someone in game and they made maps or something and were looking for ideas and i had one. Well person leaves before i can say anything and i forget about it...few days later I'm reading through comments and see the person's post with their tags. I don't recognize the username but i recognize the game name, well now i know how to reach the person on here.

Not much of an arguement I know, but there isn't much of one against it either. Unless there is a link to a site, it isn't fracking advertising. Its not like they are saying "RCTH Lieutenant Stupid...visit our site at www.thisisafakewebaddress.com". If that were the case, yeah sure its advertising, but it isn't from what I've seen. So the whole thing is stupid, posting tags in the first place and trying to get people for it. You may not like clans (I've seen a lot of dislike towards them on all these forums), but its no reason to be jerks about it and try to get them for something as stupid as that...especially when your end of the arguement doesn't work.

"If you want to keep posting here follow the rules...they say NO ADVERTISING"

"But I just put RR, not even a site address"

"Read the rules...no advertising!"

"It says no advertising of sites or forums...that isn't a site or a forum"

"Shut up and read the rules you illiterate b*stard"

Sure not exactly how things go, but it might as well be. How stupid did that sound? Honestly, I'm not even in a clan and i find this beyond retarded. If you are going to tell people to read the rules...read them yourselves. It says no advertising, but it says nothing about clans...and again i say it doesn't even make sense in the first place because its not advertising a clan its telling people what you go by online incase they've seen your or something.

I agree.. I think it's fine to be happy and proud of the clan you're in. It's not what I would personally do but I have nothing against it :) And, as you said, since it doesn't contain any silly messages like "Join my clan, we're so 1337!!" etc or any links to outside webpages I don't see how it could be grouped with advertising.

Believe me, I've dealt with mountains of rubbish comments in the past, stuff like this isn't worth the time and effort to break out the 'ban stick'.

Really, I mean I'm sure there are more important things for a mod to take care of then worrying about some perons including their tags so people can identify them. Especially when its not even breaking a rule.
