Update: I've just finished the Enterprise Hull mission. Game patched with the official patch. No problems whatsoever. Each time I jumped, Munro went back down without me doing anything to make him go down. I'm clueless as to what could be the cause of your problem. Perhaps it's the ATI graphic card + Windows 7 combination? :clueless:

Maybe, just maybe (and this is a super long longshot), it could have something to do with how you ended the previous mission, specifically the part where you have to defend Engineering against the Idryl. I killed all Idryl saboteurs before they managed to detonate any of the explosive devices (aside from the one shown in the cutscene that plays when you enter Engineering and approach Barclay), watched where I'm shooting to avoid causing any additional damage and managed to reroute power needed to cool down the Warp Core before it became critical and had to eject it. Then I rushed off to the Bridge and helped Picard get rid of the intruders there, as instructed.

Any chance you did something differently, like failed to reroute power in time and had to eject the Warp Core? My logic here is that, without the Warp Core, the ship doesn't have enough power to generate the gravity field strong enough to pull Munro back down when he jumps up off the hull, so he ends up floating up there. =p

Uh, I just thought of another possibility. Do you happen to have some mod installed, something that affects singleplayer missions in any way?

I replayed the game on a new macbook pro using bootcamp.

First i did was changing the name of the game to quake3.exe (it solved the fps drops).

Perhaps stupid but try doing that? Who knows, it changes something..

Yes, renaming the executable file to quake3.exe was a neat little trick to get the game working on ATI graphic cards with (at that time) latest Catalyst drivers. EF2 needs OpenGL support which ATI removed from their drivers at some point, but reimplemented after receiving plenty of complaints about certain games (like EF2) no longer working on their graphic cards after installating their latest drivers.

Same trick is also proved to help with low FPS problem, but, from what I know, it has its drawbacks which may or may not become visible.

Could it really be that playing this game on an ATI graphic card somehow affects the Enterprise Hull mission and prevents Munro from coming back down after jumping? I'm using NVIDIA graphic card and I still haven't encountered any problem in this game big enough to prevent me from finishing any of the missions.

Crappy storyline. :lulz: What; scary monsters that chew through the starship hull and spit on you when you try to shoot them and the half-naked blond (or completely naked if you apply proper *cough* patch *cough* :naughty:) that wants to show you her "appreciation" (:naughty:) isn't good enough for ya? =p

Well, yeah.

I mean, first of all, the sounds of the soldiers if they die are terrible. A women soldier dies, it looks like you cut her tits off. (iiiiiiiiih mega high sound) and a male soldier makes the sound like he cut in his finger.

The atrexian aliens look like they are evolved turtles, they are just pure cartoon figures. Its just stupid. And the aliens you need to fight are again exomorphs (i mean harvesters of the first elite force?)

Then like you said, the chick of the idryil. Bikini ? I mean oke its nice for a fast wank but if you stop and realise why she wears that, its just stupid again.

The borg too in the sphere, the end boss it was just childish. Everytime he lost something, he said the same stuff, it was like, chop chop, move...

The scene where the sphere comes out from the wormhole, where is earth? The ships that are approaching, only a few are correct. (constitution class? what the hell? Galaxy class with no phaser arrays?)

Phaser turrets popping out of the enterprise e? Where is riker, deanna, worf, troi, laforge? All on risa?

Elite force I was damn good because it felt like you were in an episode of voyager. All the crew was there and they delivered a good job on the voices. The enemies were good and were like something you could see in the show.

Elite force II just missed all of that. Only picard, tuvok and perhaps a few others delivered their voice and because no one else was there you didn't had the episode feeling. If riker and the others were there and who knows worf took place of tuvok and tuvok joined temporarily the hazard team, it would be great. Change the tng season 1 idriyl akoochemoya race with a race that looks much more menacing and all the other negative points, and this game could be great.

The game could be damn good but in fact all these details just made it a normal b shooter.

I've been wondering about the Constitution class being there as well. I mean, who would send a Constitution class ship to fight the Borg? Yeah, that one would last long. :vikki:
Phaser turrets popping out of the enterprise e?
Well, it's a big one. =p
Where is riker, deanna, worf, troi, laforge? All on risa?

You read my mind on this. Okay, the game focuses on the Hazard Team, but still, not including those characters into the game was a big mistake. Maybe Ritual Entertainment offered Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis, Gates McFadden, LeVar Burton and Michael Dorn to give their voices to their characters, but they refused for some reason, so the characters were simply dumped from the game. At least they got Dwight Schultz to give his voice to his Reginald Barclay character.

Hey, maybe it's the lack of those characters from the show that's bugging the Enterprise Hull mission. =p
Elite force I was damn good because it felt like you were in an episode of voyager. Oh yes. :nodding: The first game was definitely much better than the sequel in pretty much all aspects, except the graphics and the fact you couldn't use a Tricorder. That's one of the good things about EF2. Whenever some console needs to be modulated, power rerouted or something simply scanned, I get to play with myself. :naughty: :D

I just don't think they asked.. Spiner and Worf gave their voices to multiple games.. Armada, bridge commander, star trek away team, the final unity,..

Would be strange if they just said no to a game that unites the entire team back...

Elite force I was just way better, graphic wise wasn't that bad actually and you could play with a tricorder if you bought the expansion pack.

Elite force I with frost engine (battlefield 3 graphics) and every star trek person does pon farr with this.

Stark98;5600343...you could play with a tricorder if you bought the expansion pack.
Yeah, I know, but it was pretty much useless. You couldn't do anything with it except holding it and finding out the names, rank, height and weight of the characters and some objects you pointed it at.

So true. :nodding:

[EDIT]
Do you know if theres a console command to go directly to a mission instead of loading a save? I know you can do this for maps in multiplayer.

I might have found an answer to this question. You need to enable cheats by adding +set developer 1 +set cheats 1 to the Target line in EF2 shortcut (on a Desktop or in a Start Menu) properties, like this:

Spoiler: Show
elite_force2_parameter.gif

Ziel = Target. I'm not sure why it says +seta developer 1 +set sv_cheats 1 on this picture (maybe the demo and/or a German version of the game requires it that way), but the full English version should accept +set developer 1 +set cheats 1.

Run the game via the shortcut. Intro videos won't play (at least they don't play for me when I run the game with cheats enabled) and the game console will immediately be open. Close the console and press Escape key to get to main menu, where you will see a new option called Maps. Click it and you will get a list of all maps. Find the map you want, open the console and use devmap [insert map name here] command to load it.[/EDIT]

Tricorder;5598720Fun? I've just reached the USS Dallas mission (see how slow I am? =p) and I'm losing my nerves over how stupid and illogically those golden starships are hidden. =p

Okay, the first one is hidden at the beginning of the level behind the wall that can be destroyed with a weapon fire at the place where the Tricorder (yay for my user name =p) shows structural integrity weakness. The second one is hidden inside a shuttlecraft, but there is nothing on the shuttlecraft itself (floating corpse doesn't count =p) that suggests it can be opened. No controls of any kind or anything like that. You just have to approach the shuttle from behind and press the use key to open it. Doooh! :uhoh:

Now, those two are relatively easy to find. At least there's some half-logic in their placement, but the third one is hidden in an incredibly stupid and completely illogical way. It literally appears out of nowhere inside the Jefferies tube from which you just crawled out and have absolutely no reason whatsoever to go back in. But, if you want it, you have to open the hatch again and crawl back in to get it. :vikki:

Fortunately, I found a site with a nice visual walkthrough where I can check where and how to find those bloody things. =p

Visual Walkthroughs - Star Trek Elite Force 2 Walkthrough

Unfortunately, it doesn't say anything about your Enterprise Hull mission problem.

Visual Walkthroughs - Star Trek Elite Force 2 Walkthrough - Remove and Disable

[EDIT]I'm currently facepalming at even more stupid and illogical ways Ritual Entertainment choose to hide golden starships on the rest of the Dallas mission. This one takes the cake:

Spoiler: Show

38.jpg

38. Stand on the transporter pad labeled "1" above. You will hear a harp. (This sound is often a clue that Golden Starship puzzles are near.) Stand still for about 5 seconds. Move to the transporter pad labeled "2" above and wait another 5 seconds.

39.jpg

39. The 13th Golden Starship will emerge from behind the Transporter Control Panel. (Note: standing on other pads in other patterns may work, but this always works.)

See what I mean?[/EDIT]

Heh games and collectibles these days are too easy. The ones in EF2 seem difficult and maybe a little stupid but i prefer them that day.

Now I reformatted my PC at the beginning of the year, have started my HD EF2 Project, and got to the Enterprise Hull Mission, i left the game unpatched and have no problems going down this time whatsoever which i think is great. Although i did run into a minor bug on USS Dallas, patched or unpatched, I also fixed the lag spikes by using a program to manually configure my graphic settings without EF2 doing it. Looks better, works better and i have better graphic options out of it so i'm happy. I also think its sweet how they give you the I-Mod for each mission for hacking into Jurots locker. Havent found a use for it yet, its rate of fire is too slow for the damage it does but still pretty sweet.

And about most of the Actors not being in the game. Game Dialogue confirms that EF2 is set after Nemesis, which means there shouldn't be any Riker, Data, Beverley or Troi. I like how Martha Hackett and Gowrons Actor making an appearance.
