I have run the elite force games without problems for years. But recently I had to trade my gf3 ti for a Radion 7500 and now elite force 2 has the following opengl error:

Initializing OpenGL subsystem ...initializing QGL ...calling LoadLibrary( 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\opengl32.dll' ): succeeded ...setting mode 3: 640 480 FS ...using colorsbits of 32 ...calling CDS: ok ...registered window class ...created window@0,0 (640x480) Initializing OpenGL driver ...getting DC: succeeded ...GLW_ChoosePFD( 32, 24, 8 ) ...35 PFDs found ...GLW_ChoosePFD failed ...GLW_ChoosePFD( 32, 24, 0 ) ...35 PFDs found ...GLW_ChoosePFD failed ...failed to find an appropriate PIXELFORMAT ...restoring display settings ...WARNING: could not set the given mode (3) ...setting mode 3: 640 480 FS ...using colorsbits of 16 ...calling CDS: ok ...created window@0,0 (640x480) Initializing OpenGL driver ...getting DC: succeeded ...GLW_ChoosePFD( 16, 16, 0 ) ...35 PFDs found ...GLW_ChoosePFD failed ...failed to find an appropriate PIXELFORMAT ...restoring display settings ...WARNING: could not set the given mode (3) ...shutting down QGL ...unloading OpenGL DLL ...assuming '3dfxvgl' is a standalone driver ...initializing QGL ...WARNING: missing Glide installation, assuming no 3Dfx available ...shutting down QGL ----- CL_Shutdown ----- ----------------------- GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem

According to the requirements it should work. What can I do to fix this error? Thanks for any jelp!

You traded one severely outdated graphic card for another, also severely outdated graphic card? :Puzzled: What happened to your GeForce 3, if I may ask?

In any case, judging by the error report you posted, you seem to be missing OpenGL drivers which are needed to run id Tech 3 engine based games. ATI removed OpenGL support from their drivers at one point, but restored it after getting plenty of complaints from their customers.

What operating system do you have? If your computer is as old as it seems to be old, I'd say Windows XP. Am I right?

1. deinstall Nvidia Drivers 2. reboot 3. deinstall ATI drivers 4. reboot 5. let windows install default drivers 6. reboot 7. try the game 8. try diffrent ATI/AMD drivers 9. reboot after each install/de-install and then try the game

If that fails, go to ef2 install directory and delete ALL cfg files from: /EF2/base/
