What I hate, is in EF2, you only get to use the Compression Rifle, in like, 4 missions! You'd think, that as a standard Haz Team Weapon, it would be in more than just 4!

theres an explanation for that, the phaser rifle was replaced with the enhanced compresion phaser rifle. besides, lets look at the star trek canon. the phaser rifle is a type IIIb, the sniper rifle you get later on is a type IIIc phaser rifle.

If you ask me, I think Starfleet should've made double-barrelled phaser rifles long before EF2. Also, the only reason you don't get to use the phaser rifle in later missions (unless you're using /give all) is because it barely makes a scratch on Exomorphs and other enemies later in the game. If you ask me, stick with the Sniper Rifle, that does good damage.

Interesting, using the give menu, I found it killed Exomorphs quicker than any of the other guns (excluding heavy weaponry).

I would have said because Ritual Entertainment made it. They have common themes in all thier games and a lot of similarities. In Sin Episodes Emergence for example, they have "mutants" of which look hell of a lot like exomorphs.

well, its just that a shotgun in star trek seems a little wrong. Tell me when you get to see weapons like this in canon. I know of worfs bazooka thing in Insurrection, but other than that...They made it to much like a kill-everything-in-sight game. Plus your ALWAYS going off on your own. pretty conveniant.
