I'm somewhat wondering some things..
1) Why have the mods I've submitted not been posted?
2) Why any news I've posted of EF1 has not been posted
I understand this site is under corporate rule. But from what I gather effiles exists to support the game... what am I missing...
3) Why has relevant ef event news posted in these forums been deleted? Corporate policy? Proly...
4) No I can't be quiet...
This is a community.. and frankly some would consider a 7 year old game a dieing community...
Is this a pille thing.. I still don't like the guy.. but I'm forking out a fortune for EF in general... I find this a bit distressing..
Some of us actually give a darn above rules and corporate filefront policy for keeping this game alive.. again.. am I missing something.. Am I doing something wrong?! you tell me..
Yes.. I'm old.. and tend to be a bit bitter sometimes
No I'm not a volunteer.. for any EF thing.. I just pay a lot of money to keep it alive..
I'm not trying to start a flame war.. but I am curious about the selective promotion of this game when people are bending over backwards to make it live after all these years.. You tell me...
I have expirianced a lot simulatitys here on latly you may have noticed some of my posts, i think they have a lot technical problems or else problems here. I have over 20 missing potds a few missing comments a few missiong files send in never been released, ya some of those things i have no longer so they won't ever come back.
BTW Evil You should consider to use alternative platforms as well. If you have EF2 related stuff you can mail them to me, I can organize some news on several sites.
If you have stvef related suff leme know about if they are important (like comunity related stuff, new good mods and such things, i think maps are not so imortant unless they bring something realy new with it) i think we can also post news on our clan site www.darkmatter-clan.com But since i'm not an expert at stvef stuff i can't write news about stvef my self you know
I am extremely disappointed that no one bothered to come to me with any of this, what is the point in my running a site if you don't keep me in the loop with any issues you have.
If your files, news items or whatever don't appear then you need to tell me. I am not psychic and do not magically know if something is missing.
Two days ago I was told one particular file has been corrupt for three months, yet no one said anything in the comment sections or even e-mailed me. So I ask you, honestly, how can I be expected to know if something is broken when no one tells me? Downloading every single file on the site just to test if it works is not something that we do, we rely on the community to report errors yet no one does.

This was three months ago and as was explained to you by a Network Administrator, whom at the time was running the site; none of those things were received. Since then we have been getting your items and as you are aware they are on the site so I fail to see the problem.
Regarding the hosting of GBS, I very much would like to have the file on the site. However I cannot host it unless it's creator has given permission for this. I have been unable to contact Lars so there was nothing I could do in that respect.
Alternatively if the majority of the mod team tell me it is ok to host it then I will, I have to consider the people that were involved in creating the file, not just one person. Again if you can get them to contact me and tell me they agree to the work being hosted on our site then I will do so.
Chris, I am rather disappointed that you clearly have a problem with my response yet you didn't reply to it.

I am not aware of such a news item, could you send it again?

:moved: to rants and raves.
I'm not only referring to thing being 3 month ago already!
I know from a few ppl which had problems with sening in files or getting in contact with effiles staff, i redirected them to you, but i guess not everyone did really make it. I also know you can't be everywhere, but downloading uploaded files isn't that hard at last you could attach that job to someone.

The only person whom has contacted me after speaking with you is Nick Groom, whom told me the problem may have been with their mail server. At any rate both files he sent are on the site, and are both pretty good.Chrissstrahl;4015676 I also know you can't be everywhere.
I appreciate your saying that, at least someone is aware of that.
[quote=Chrissstrahl;4015676] but downloading uploaded files isn't that hard at last you could attach that job to someone.
Which I have done; "The Tenth Doctor" will be helping myself with file uploads in the near future. :)
Why are you paying for us if you don't care that much about the game? It is your money and your time to spend as you want to (with exception of sleep and work) so do what you want with it. I use effiles as primary source for the files I require for EF, but when I can't find a certain file I search on beer-garden.org. Your site contains loads of maps, but feels not as good as effiles. That's why I look at effiles before beer-garden.org.
I repeat; Do what you want with the money, do not feel obligitated towards us to keep EF alive. It is not just your contribution that keeps it alive, in fact the players are keeping it alive somehow. However, I assume that it will die in lets say, 4 years? It is a long shot but I presume with the current rate of technological "advancements" (They are just improving existing stuff to get more money from us... instead of going for real advancements) that EF will barely be playable anymore (We already stopped providing build-in floppy readers as a matter of fact, and Blu-ray is going to start which will make the cd-rom's obsolete...)
The thread creator has failed to make further contact with myself or EFFiles. As such I consider this matter closed.
Please PM me if you would like this thread re-opened for what ever reason.
