RSF_R_GhostI dont know how to do it, can anyone help me??
I made this up some time ago now, it can be found elsewhere about the forums but to save you time (and coz I'm nice!) I thought I'd put it here for you.
Any problems then feel free to contact me on yahoo... Don't bother asking for my MSN coz I don't use it enough to warrent giving the address! ;)
Nice tutorial somtimes i get sick of writing it over and over in the forums but i keep the important bits in a text file in my documents.
Which is exactly why I made it in the first place!
On another note to quote Kylek "Please be aware of this deadly worm bug going around which has effected hundreds of computers on the net. " Had that yesterday... Couldn't do much but back up what I could in the like... 2 minutes you have before PC goes into auto shut down.... Reinstalled XP (was at it until 2:30am) then later that morning I checked my emails to find that my ISP had sent me a link that would cure it!!!
How annoyed was I ?! :curse:
All Hackers should be :fistpunch: then :smack: then :spank: then :fistpunch: again...
Repeat until..... Well I think we can all imagine what I'm thinking.
I was going to try and contact you on yahoo about it but you were not on last night because if i am correct you have xp which is effected by it.
My brother has had it and it shuts your computer off if you stay on the internet for two minutes.
Lukily it happend to be but never shut down my computer so i deleted it with nortan antivirus.:D
I dbetter get the patch anyway incase i get it over and over again...
The person who made it should be jailed for 20 years or if were luky... for ever.:D
Don't worry though they are doing everything they can to stop it.

hope so in a reanstall of my compurter bcuz the computers cancer (nicnamed by a friend of mine) iits when you get scandisk message and it sompletes and then comp freezez then with restart scandisk opens agina so i had to resintall :P no reformat though.
so idunno if norton is activated (it is on the hard drive but not in the registry) so ill reinstall it and btw how could you know they would make a worm, you made it j/k :P.
Heh @ Link....
The Worm was discovered on 11th August I believe. I'd "caught" it on the 15th.
Funny thing is, I only realized something was up when I started JK2, the intro screen was REAL slow, infact hardly moved.
In task manager you could see the little bugger running. msblast.exe. So all you XP users out there press ctrl+alt+delete now and see if it is in your processes section.
(This worm dosn't affect Windows 95, 98, 98SE and Windows ME)
Then find the appropiate fix for it. (I believe Microsoft have a download to remove it)
If you have a firewall running (Even XP's not so good one) then its harmless as far as I can tell. No hacks can happen. I discovered this on a site in the couple of minutes I had before PC went into auto off, let it restart, during which I disconnected the internet connection then put firewall back on. This gave me time to back up some more stuff (most importantly my gamedata folder ;) ) Then after previously mentioned reinstall I had been given all the removal information which was a little annoying!
But then again, my hard drive was getting a little cluttered so there is a kinda bright side, and I've partitioned 20 Gig for future back up now!
Anyway, I'm going on a bit off subject now, but with any luck the info here may help you lot avoid that reinstall/having to take PC to shop to get it cleaned up at a cost.
Microsoft does have somthing to remove it on it's site.
It will effect all versions of xp, their are sevral xp versions and all will be effected if your not carful. However it does effect mellenium by making it slow but it will not restart it so anyone with windows Me or below your ok but windows 2000 however is effected...
So be sure to keep any and all virus protection systems updated.
