i was wondering if you guys knew why my map is only producing .bak files when i compile it instead of .bsps. i checked and made sure all leaks were plugged, and it still just made .baks. what is wrong?

Questions that will help give an answer

What method are you using to compile?

Are there any messages in the junk.txt file?

with out that information no one can help.

I have gained alot of expierence lately in compiling problems, so tell me that and I will help/

I the mean time try compiling using any of the q3map2 option instead on the others.

Yes the map size hos alot to do with, as far as I am aware. So does complexity. after a certain point you have to use the q3map2 option isntead of the bsp option which mean the top options. They take alot longer to compile then the bsp option but they come out much better.

by the way I didn't say this before but the .bak file is created with the .map file not during the bsp process.

The junk.txt is located in the radiant directory.

As I siad in the other post:

I the mean time try compiling using any of the q3map2 option instead on the others.

q3map2 isn't in JK2 radiant. Only GTK radiant (which I recomend over JK2). and I think for Jk2radiant, the junk file gets made in youe windows\temp directory, but if it's not just do a search on your hard disk for the file junk.txt and you'll find it.
