I have been trying to create a map, but it doesn't work. I end up with a .map file, and a .bsp file.

All of the other maps I have downloaded have a .arena file and a .bsp file, some have a .wnt file as well.

How do I create a .arena?

I know how to create a .pk3 using WinZIP, but what level of compression do I use?

None, Super Fast, Fast, Normal, or Maximum (slowest)?

:deal:  :fistpunch:

I usually do Maximum compression when I make pk3 files..

An arena file consists of the "map information" for the game to read. Like this: { map "duel_wls1" longname "WLS Headquarters by UniKorn (Wired Lamp Studios)" fraglimit 10 type "duel" } That's just an example from the Duel WLS1 map by UniKorn (just letting ya know who made it :D)

The "map" bit holds the shortname of your map.. usually the .bsp name The "longname" is the name that will show up in the map list The "fraglimit" if you're suggested fraglimit, though the server host can change it The "type" is what kind of map it is.. like CTF, FFA, duel, etc.

type it up in Notepad and then save it with a .arena extension.

You need a program called JK2Radiant which is included in the JK2 SDK

Get the SDK here: http://www.jk2files.com/file.info?2433
