where can i find a realy good mapping tutorial for JK2

and how do you need to make a pk3 file I already made a vary nice map but i don't know how to make it in a pk3 file so if you can help me plz e-mail (weerde35@hotmail.com) me

Good tutorial for mappers: http://richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/main/index.html

To pk3 files, you must have WinZip (winzip.com).

First, create a folder such as C:\Map there, make a folders "levelshots","maps","textures" (i mean all you had done to your map)

Copy your .bsp from gamedata\base\maps to C:\Map\maps Copy levelshot from gamedata\base\levelshots to C:\Map\levelshots Copy .arena file from gamedata\base\scripts to C:\Map\scripts

This is all you need to make your map working. You can put also custom music,textures,bot route.

Then, select all directories (folders) from C:\Map and right-click one.

There should be a Win-zip submenu. Click on "add to zip file..." WinZip should open. In "Add to archive" type C:\Map\map.pk3 remember about .pk3 at end, or WinZip will make .zip

Copy your map.pk3 to gamedata\base

Ready!

Add readme and .pk3 to zip and submit it to jk3files.com :naughty:

You COULD do it that way, but why do it the hard way? just download a program called PakScape from the richdiesal site. That's easier.

already have packscape but do you need to put the standard shaders in too ?

i only used yavin shaders

Yes... Look at "my projects"

I'm making now a map called "Towers" (FFA, TFFA, DUEL, PDUEL, CTF) and I hadn't put any screenshots yet... because It's still not textured well, doors are too big, duel areas are too small...

If anyone can help me with scripting for SP mod (I want wery simple scripts) I'm waiting (you can mail me [email]amadeuszw@wp.pl[/email] ). Of course I will include credits...

well i'm making my let's think

second map now

it is the mines of moria it looks realy cool and is almost just as in the film so that is cool

i'm also busy whith making a new disingh for another map i think it is gooing to be some kind of clan map. but i havn't put anything on the www.
