Nop you cant, but the Galactic Warfare mod are trying to put these into multiplayer. Maybe you can ask their Leader about the emplaced gun.

Anyway, you're going to need some coding expertise to do that. But then, you wouldn't have a map... you'd have a mod!

Well what will happen is this: it will put in an entitie that looks just like e11 blaster, when u pick it up it will say u picked up emplaced gun it will not appear in ur weapons, but when u keep going thru weapons u will get to it, it will be a blank spot, then ur arms will stick out forward as if u were sitting in the emplaced gun, then when u shoot it will make the sound, but no shooting, and it will not do damage, so if u wanna kill wit it, its pointless, maybe theres some rpg method u can come up wit for it.

I know cos i put it in one of my maps, i was curious, and heres a hint to all new mappers: If u dont know wat it does, try using it, thats how i learned half the tings for mapping, buy trying and using it, also there are some links to mapping tutorials on my website if ur interested, most of em are for quake 3, but its about the same.

The emplaced gun can be put into mp maps but not very well. When I did It a while ago, I placed the gun, then loaded the game. it came up with a "Cannot find emplaced gunmodel" (or something similar) and game the path. so I simply found the model in the assests0pk3 I think, and put it into the directory. From then on the gunwould appear in the map and you could use it by running up behind it (and only behind it) and pressing use. Then you could turn and shoot etc. The problem is that 1st You don't get positioned in the chair, you remain stood behind it so you can't see very well, and also the gun model doesn't turn.

Then a mod it needs to be. In Battlefield 1942 one of the most impressive things is the ability to use turret's, and planes, and tanks, and so-on in MP mode. Can someone put me in touch with these people that are trying this. If anyone is interested, let me know.

maybe lucas planned on this but there are unfinished things in jk2, like ctf_neutral_flag, its proly for some unfinished gametype, so maybe the gun in mp is also unfinished
