Hey everyone-

I've been trying different things and so far no luck... I am trying to create a horizontally moving lift. i.e. one that would, once activate, carry you across a chasm. I am trying to add something to a map that I am creating, but in order for it to work, I need lifts that can do that. If anyone knows anything about this, please get ahold of me. I would greatly appreciate it.

I've tried changing the angle in the func_lift setting, but all of them make it go up or down. I haven't found one for horizontal...

Well your wrong lol you need to use func_train. It is not to hard so listen up:

1.You need to place a brush that will be the acual lift and you will need to put a small origin brush in the middle.

2.Select both the brush that is the train and the origin brush and set them to be a func_train

3.Place a path_corner at the start of the track and several more where the train will be going(make sure that you make a complete circuit you should have your paths in a square shape they should go across then go left/right and then back across.

4.Now the train could be put anywhere on the map it wont matter because it will spawn at the first path_corner, what you must do is in this order select the train, then first path_corner and press ctrl K.

5.Now you need to select that path_corner and the next one and link them the same way and you must continue to do this all the way around.

6.And finally you need to have fun and go into the prop menu and edit all the stuff like make it active by button, change speeds, or whatever.

Note: I am writing complete tutorials on my clan website that will be even better than Rich Diesal so if you ever need help you can refer to there ill tell you when I am done):D

OK here's what I m trying to do...

I am making a training facility for my clan. We are mostly a saber clan and rarely use weapons, but I want people to be able to train everything here, so I am adding a shooting accuracy range.

Like any indoor shooting range, I want the targets to be able to move to where the shooter is at the push of a button. Will your func_train command work for that?

Sorry to keep bothering you.

I appreciate all your help.

I definitely agree. I have the Kejim tram model working on my map and although I cant get the sound to work with it, it works beautifully with switches (4 infact. One on each platform and one at either end of the tram). One thing to remember though. the platform won't spawn until the first switch is pressed. Since mp doesnt appear to have a trigger_once function, u cant set up a trigger to switch it on when someone enters the area. :(
