Where can I get some tutorials for making maps and what tools would be needed to do so?

richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/tutorial

I think that's what it is. Anyway it has everything you'll need to begin your mapping process, good luck

it doesn't work... i'd also like to know how to make maps...

and skins, for that matter. i tried making one just to see if mine worked, so i made an all white skin :D

aaaaand.... it didn't work. lol. i could find the character icon in the player options under setup in the main menu, but not when i started a game. i don't think the problem has to do with leaving the models folder as a folder and not saving it into a PK3, but that's impossible to do because i don't know how to make a zip file into a PK3 :(

the JK2 Skinning Tutorial said to just save the zip file as a PK3... but winzip can't do that... so i tried making it into a notepad document (i must've been drunk) and converting it, and it worked, but obviously nothing was the same.. there aren't ascii characters that stand for things in the model, etc., so i'm stuck.

well i guess i probably should've just started my own thread, cause i kind of invaded this one, but that's ok. maybe someone will help me.... er... us :D

sorry about the link I think thiis is it richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/tutorials/

when you put the file into a folder you can see the file's full name, when you see the full name, rename the end bit to .pk3, and I think should work I dunno, I'm not a skinner that just worked for other files I made
