I am just starting to map but apperently I made a mistake when i installed the Radiant. I put it in the Gamedata but i still cannot see some things. According to the tutorial I am using i didnt install the radiant correctly. I am confused because it is in the Gamedata folder. Can someone tell me what i might have done wrong?

there are two thing, i think; one is that you might have installed it wrong- as you already said two- look in the file>project settings and there you have to have something like this: PROGRA~1 i'm not sure, but do not change PROGRA~ to program files!!! if you have changed it already, just put PROGRA~ in again. i hope this helps, if not, describe your problem a little more

ok, i dunno if you are using GTK radiant already to map for jk2, but it is sooo much better than the JK2 radiant. if u installed JK2 to default dir. just run the GTK setup and thats it, all ready to go, plus it is more stable and supports other quake based games too, which owns :D http://www.qeradiant.com/ this is the link u need :D find download selector on site and select stable release and jk2 mapping, i think its 2 files, once u install first file then update u are ready to go, hope this helps, Nathan

if your file path is the one that is installed by default then radient will not work.

EG : c:\Program Files\Lucasarts\Starwars...etc

You should copy the gamedata folder and put it somewhere else (Desktop is fine for now)

Uninstall the game and delete the lucasarts folder from c:\Program Files. Only delete this folder if JK2 is your only lucasarts game, if not open the folder and delete the folder that is the jk2 one inside.

Reinstall game using custom options and select a simple path - I use c:\JK2

once it has installed PATCH THE GAME FIRST!! to Official Patch

Then copy the gamedata folder you backed up earlier to the right place where you have installed the game.

Open project settings in radient and correct all the file paths, click ok close and restart radient and you should be on your way to problem free mapping.

Best of luck.

If radiant and it's editing tools are in gamedata they should be in a folder called tools in gamedata.

(JK2Radiant)
