I still have the problem when compiling with JK2 Radiant... When I compile the DOS windows does not show any signs of work, just displays the Junk.txt path, and stays there forever. I am forced to close the window, and the map is converted into bsp, but the lights don't appear, the map is all extremely bright.
I need someone to send me the compiling command they use so I can try it...
Thx in advance
Maybe I know what happens: First of all you have the "Compiling guard" or something like that OFF (you can see it in the preferences). This makes radiant to generate the Junk.txt you said, a text file that shows all the processes that sof2map does to make the bsp, vis it and light it. I don't think you got a problem... If in the dos window you see something like this... --BSP-- c:\games\jk2\gamedata\tools\sof2map -bsp c:\games\Jk2\gamedata\base\maps\YOURMAPFILE.map c:\ehm-adirectoryidon'trememer\junk.txt
--VIS-- c:\games\jk2\gamedata\tools\sof2map -vis c:\games\Jk2\gamedata\base\maps\YOURMAPFILE.map c:\ehm-adirectoryidon'trememer\junk.txt
--Light-- c:\games\jk2\gamedata\tools\sof2map -light c:\games\Jk2\gamedata\base\maps\YOURMAPFILE.map c:\ehm-adirectoryidon'trememer\junk.txt
...and the dos block here, then there is no problem, you must wait.Idunnow how much. It cuold be ten minutes, half-an-hour, six hours, an entire day. Depends on how many lights you have and how big is your map. One last thing the time depends of the light process. The bsp and the light process should take at least from 2 to 5 mins.
The DOS window only has that BSP part, the VIS and LIGHT do not appear. I waited for ten minutes then gave up, because the map was extremely small and had only one light!! I installed GTK Radiant and copied a BSP command from a friend and it worked, but it uses Q3Map2 instead of SOF2map. The only problem now is that I can't use my own textures, I add them to the program, apply them correctly but in-game these textures are replaced by a grey grid, and the console displays a message about my textures having no lightmap (i think... I can copy the error if u want).
