I seem to be having problems making bots. I've tried everything. I've made custom skins that work just fine in multiplayer, and now I want to be able to make them into bots and team players. I'm sure this is basic stuff, but I just can't get it to work. I went into the model_red.skin and model_blue.skin files and changed the directories just like I did for the model_default.skin; must I do more than this for it to be able to work on teams? As far as making bots, I downloaded the botmaker program, and followed the instructions exactly, and named it the same as my skin, and put everything in the correct folders. I also put this all in a pk3 but that didn't work either. I unzipped the player that I made the skin from, since it has working team and bot support, and I opened up the .bot and .jkb files and changed the names to fit my skin's, and saved them in the correct folders under my character, and it still didn't work. Maybe I'm just going about this all wrong. Can someone just give me some good instructions that will work for sure? Please?

Do your bots work? My bots are wierd, because when I have created a skin and want it to be a bot, I make a bot in the old way, you know rewriting files and such, but when I'm finished, I can't be the skin! Do you think Botmaker or whatever the name is will work creating bots?

The thing I had been doing wrong was that I didn't know that inside the base folder you have to create 2 folders, "botfiles" and "scripts." You put .jkb's in the botfiles one and .bot's in the scripts one. I didn't end up using the botmaker program, I just found a model that I had downloaded that had a working bot and went into its folder and copied the .jkb and .bot files, and went into these text files and replaced the name of the existing skin with the name of my new skin. Hope it works for you...

Yeah I'm surprised it worked for me, considering the bad luck I've been having with this stuff. Its a pain in the butt when it doesn't work and there's no reasonable explanation for it. I don't know what to tell you, but I hope someone else will read this that knows what to do. Good luck.

Damn, everyone that have tried to help couldn't help me, that's kind of disturbance in the force.
