Ok, I can tell you that this idea is entirely possible, and even sounds pretty cool. It doesn't seem to change the game play too much, changing the standard 'death' to a time-out period is the most drastic change, and that's easy to do with a JK2 mod.

I'm not making any promises, but I will start thinking about how to work this mod. One major point, though: What are you going to call it?

I'd see it as an RPG mod, mainly... so ... I don't know.. ROleplay Mod or RP mod... that's fine I think...

Also, there is a feature I'd like to remind : Skill progression, where you need to log in and have being 'authorised' to use the Force and light saber... and if possible... that the saber doesn't come in there right away... like... after a certain time or certain command... just ideas I throw... reach me on MSN for more details... I'll send you the Feature list(last updated one)
