I've made a few small maps just as a test but when I run FullVIS from the BSP menu it doesn't seem to make a .bsp file. The only thing I've noticed is a .bak file. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had the same problem, first of all we all need to know what program you are using to map with...JK2 Radiant or GTK Radiant. Try deleting everything that has to do with radiant....tools folder...maps etc. The reinstall the thing...and make sure you put it in the gamedata folder and dont change anything in project settings.

What Windows do you have? (assuming you have Windows anyway ;))

Also do any kind of errors show up? Like in a black DOS window... or in that message box at the very bottom of the Radiant window.

In the junk.txt I found it says something about an error:

---- Vis ---- Unspecified error - please contact John or Rick.

---- BSP ---- SetQdirFromPath: no 'base' in ˆz

----- Lighting ---- SetQdirFromPath: no 'base' in ü

Those are the errors it gives me. I tried deleting everything and reinstalling the Editing Tools but it still does the same thing. Also no matter how big the map is it seems to compile it instantly and says it's completed compiling in 0-1 seconds. I'm still not sure what to do.

P.S. Oh and EXiT I have Windows XP

Well that error means that it can't find the word "base" in your path to JK2. Is your JK2 installed to the default directory or did you install it to some other directory? Also, check your "Project Settings" (under the File menu). Make sure all the stuff in there is pointing to the right location.

EXiT ps. WinXP is a bit troublesome with Radiant since it doesn't show that handy DOS window... but the junk.txt is good though since that tells you the error.

I made sure that the files settings were correct but it still won't make that darn .bsp file. There is one part of the Project settings that is called "rshcmd" which was empty so I left it alone when I made sure the paths were correct. The good thing is that it no longer gives errors in the junk.txt but it does still instantly compile that map. Is there something that's supposed to be in the "rshcmd" box?
