I dont know about that map but running a server is easy. First the mod has to be installed, ofcoarse. Now Load the mod through the "setup" of the ingame browser. Then go to the "create game" menu and set up your configuration. Load your server and the map you want to play on.

Make it non-dedicated if you have an old crappy comp like me and want to play when you host (also, make sure you have a server configuration file that sends a "heartbeat" to the main jk2server so others can see and join you if you do*) , or dedicated when you want to run your server while you are away.

Thats all basically. I never played the mod so i dont know if it has a npc (=non playable character) spawning cvar (=command), check the readme! If not open up the console after your server has loaded and type: devmap mp/yourmap and it will load with cheats so you can spawn npc's (command in console is: /npc spawn shadowtrooper for e.g.) You can download npc spawning lists off this site I believe. OR simply add bots manually, but they dont spawn in waves. ( Think you got those 2 confused)

Blah, I'm out of time. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions about advanced server configuration ask here and Í'll try to answer them. (that goes for anybody)

* you probably have no idea of what i'm talking about so my advice is to get a server configuration tool named "jedirunner" (www.gamerunners.com). It creates server configuration files for you and will help you understand how servers work in general.

hey ty for the info the melee mod comes with bat files, on the single player ones it makes the bots come in waves, and cycles through the weapons. so at the end your fighting against the huge hammers and trident sword thingys. somehow i guess they got that single player setup to run as a server with 4 people being able to fight the bots together. maybe its running multiple game modes, or they hacked the single player .bat files to run the bots in MP. n e ways...theres no way in hell ill figure out how... until then im trying jedi runner with some success thanks again, very helpful:fistpunch: :moon:

I checked and found out the authors made an melee mod mp fix with a new batchfile witch includes the proper commandline to load up the mod for mp. jk2files should have it. Or copy a batchfile and replace the text with this: "jamp.exe +set fs_game melee +exec moremarks %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9"

Here's a tip. I prefer shortcuts instead of batchfiles: Make a shortcut of the jamp.exe in your gamedata folder, right click and open up the props. You can add commands in the gamepath commandline like so; "C:\Program Files\Games\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\jamp.exe" (+set dedicated 2) +set fs_game melee +exec server.cfg +exec jedimaps.cfg (+set net_port 29071). When done click on it and it will load your server in one step. This is how you can load up your server with a mod along with a server- and mapcycle configurationfile that you can create with jedirunner. In theory this works for any mod. Not sure about Melee mod tho.
