does anyone know any modelling programs for jk2 that i can get off the net for free?
Milkshape has a free trial I believe but if you've never used a moddeling program then you probably will not be able to learn to and make your model in time!
there is also one called gmax I believe, not sure if that expires tho.
have a browse around for those two, that should keep you ocupied for a while. ;)
thx, but i want something thats surely good
I vaugly remember reading that gmax is a toned down version of 3D Studio Max, which, apparently has been used in movie special effects.
And also expencive, as you'd imagine, but I know gmax is available for download coz I got it once but couldn't get my head round it!
Can't remember if its a trial job tho
bye-bye for a moment

if you doubt milkshape can do good STATIC model, go and see chumbalum soft home site... good pics and good tuts.
i got GMAX, its working for me, now all i need to do is to get someone to teach me how to make a model
And THATS the hard part!
There are a couple of moddeling tutorials around but I've found they mostly assume you already know how to use the program in the first place!
I've made a few starts and given up!
can anyone teach me how to do models the easy easy easy easy easy way?
Im IMALES,also known as Drizzt

gmax is a powerfull modelling program, it's a subset of 3ds max, and it's free, the sad part is it's limited capacity of outputting data for different games. As the matter of fact only a few games have gamepacks for gmax, and it's not opensource =(. Anyway, you should learn how to model with that program, cuz it's worth it, the modelling principles and tools are almost the same for all 3d editors, they only change in the names of those tools or the way they handle the scene.
