Hi yall again im trying to get my own music to work on the multiplayer main menu and in dules but i cant get it to work look wot im duing plz tell me where im going wrong
my song duel.mp3 which is in a folder named mp ,, which is in a folder named music which is in a folder named gladiatortheam folder,,then i go to add to zip useing winzip the change the end of the name zip to pk3 ,,, now i put it in my base folder and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, NOTHING can some plz tell me wot im doing wrong and correct me plz thanx:rock:
remove the "gladiatortheam" folder
The path must be like this: music/mp/duel.mp3
Unknown999 is right that other folder must go.
unless its top folder IE gladiatortheam/music/mp/duel.mp3
When packing up with winzip, you start at gladiatortheam folder so you can see next one (music) then, making sure use folder names IS CHECKED (a good idea, though not important is to UNCHECK include system and hidden folders - saves on space in pk3)
Now click the "Add with wildcards" button. rename the zip to pk3 and your done.
If it don't work, then right click your mp3 and select properties.
Click the summary tab and delete anything that is in the boxes.
Then click the advance button at bottom of summarys and do the same there
The genre will go back to other once you've clicked apply but its okay.
Now most important bit....
Still in same bit (Advance summary) check the Audio section near bottom, should be as follows:
Duration : however long the track is
Bit Rate : 128Kbps *see note
Channels : 2(stereo)
Audio Sample Rate : 44kHz *see note
*If these two are not right then game will not play the track and go back to default
If you bring down console at main menu you will find the error telling you about the mp3.
Give it a go and see what happens.
thanx aide that realy help but only 1 prob theres no add with wildcards thing there and the game isnt reading it wot am i doing wrong :uhoh:
arrrghhh still cant find add with wildcards am i converting to pk3 incorrectly wrong or something i go add to zip file the change the end of the name from zip to pk3 arrgghhhh heeelllpppp lol
First off, are you using Winzip?
Second, Use winzip Classic interface if using winzip, if you've not got winzip then get it!
and as for changing the file type you need to make sure that you can see file extentions for known file types Example:
When you create a new winzip file, do it appear as:
New Winzip File
New Winzip File.zip
If you don't see the .zip at end you need to go to Control Panel/folder options/view tab and uncheck the "Hide file extentions for known file types"
Then you can change the .zip to .pk3 (Click "yes" when asked if you want to change file type)
When renaming other files, Windows will require you to add the extention all the time, so make a note of what is after the dot all the time or you may loose use of that particular file.
Another note, if using Windows XP and trying to zip the files that way you will never get it to work!
Let me know if you win or not, and if not tell me EXACTLY what you've done, failing that post the file and I will have a look at it for you.
Thanx Aidy it has worked i cant thank you anoth ,,,anyways im puting it up for download and im going to put a thanx to you in the read me file ,,, cheers bro:rock:
