Hi, i am pretty new to any sort of mapping and i have just finished my first map. The thing is, i have it in a PK3 files, in the base folder, and it doesn't come up in the create server menu. Is there something i have overlooked ? Thanks very much.

Did you create an levelshot for it? To create a levelshot:

1. take a screenshot of your level 2. resize the screenshot to 256x256 dimension 3. place it in the "base/levelshots" folder (needs to be in the pk3 file as well)

Also another way to start your map is to use this command in the console:

map mapname ("mapname" is the name of the BSP file)

Ok make sure you do what EXiT said. Then to get it to show up in the list you need an arena file included in the PK3. To make one: 1. Open up a text editor and save it as yourmap.arena 2. Type this:

{ map "ffa_yourmap" longname "Name that shows up in the list" type "ctf cty duel ffa holocron jedimaster team" }

Only use the types that you want, I just included them all just so you know... the types determine if they will show up under a certain category while choosing the map (for ex. say you want it to show up when you choose CTF as the game type, you would have ctf in the type.) Only use the ones that your map supports though, for example if you dont have spawn points for imperials and rebels don't put team in the type. Save that and put it in your gamedata\base\scripts directory as well as your PK3.
