I loaded up multiplayer Jedi Knight II and picked my character model to play and he showed up as Kyle. I assume there is some kind of error in my model. Anyone know what might have caused this?
i think you might be having the same problem i am having load you model in game and check console dose it say warning unsurported model then something about bones?
yeah, it says attempted to load unsupported multiplayer model ( bad or missing bone, missing animation )
yeah you have the same problem as me if you find out please help me till then i am trying and trying i will keep my ears open
I think you need to use the Assimilate program in the SDK. It applies the animation .gla file to your .glm file.. or something ;) lol read SpaceMonkey's tutorial on Modelling to find out more: http://www2.ravensoft.com/jedioutcast/ (link in the tools/editing/mods section of the page) The last part of the tutorial called "Assimilate" is what I think you need to read.

Yeah, the tutorial says you have to export your max model as a .xsi for assimlator to be able to read, but the plugin that comes with the sdk for max doesn't seem to work, at least not on my system. I was hoping to find away around that since it looks like no one else is having trouble with the plugin. How do people that don't use max do it?
.xsi i cant export this file using 3d max to i tryed exporting as a .ase file but that still did not work
Could someone who has max check their plugin manager and let me know if it's normal to have half the plugins "unloaded" , half "deffered" and none that say "loaded". The plugin manager is under the customize menu in 3d studio max 4.
the plugin that's suppose to export .xsi's is listed as unloaded. I think that may be the problem, but I don't know how to fix it. I'd really appreciate any help.
might of been a glich where you saw it on you charted slection sereen but the sever did not have it or its a pure sever!
