Once i've had a bit more experience modding jedi outcast, i've decided i'm going to make a mod for it, called Star Wars Jedi Knight III: Sith Vengeance. It's going to have a few characters from Jedi Knight II, and it's also going to have characters from these star wars books i've read: Jedi Search, Dark Apprentice + Champions of the Force (I know they're a bit old, but what the heck!). I've not decided on who you will play as through the game yet, and the main reason I posted this up is because I'm not that good a computer graphics, and I was wondering if anyone would want to help and do textures and that. I'm not starting on it yet, coz i'm still not too sure about some things.

Well you'll have my help becuase I love the Jedi Academcy Series, think they should make those books into a trilogy as well whilst the actors arn't too old to play themselves.

Naming it that thou --- Hmm not too sure. (^_^)

Star Wars Jedi Academy: Hidden Evil would probably be better. I'm currently workin on a Mod for the Vulcanus Community which will be editing how the saber and weapons handle - basically making it a far more of an RPG and Skill experience. If anyone has played Oni - you know exactly what to expect from this. First version is due out soon as it is a customisable Character Screen. I know that you can already pick skin blah, blah, but bascially you pick your model, saber hilt, and custom blade color (later will also be blade type Dual/Twin/Lance/Normal)

I'd suggest you write down the story entirely on what you want for each mission and set it all up in a way to be played that doesn't conflict with the actual books. Once thats done you can get into the designs for each level - and finally building them and the Mod.

Single Player is alot more work than a Multiplayer - you'll need to also think about the personalities of the Bots. Give this alot of design space, and plan it out fully - perhaps in a couple of weeks once the Jedi Council mod is out properly, you may want to look at it as a base for this. Becuase it'll offer some great improvements over saber battle and single player - especially with the new Ai that is being coded up. The JK2:JO game is pretty weak in the Single Player Knees and you can probably tell although it was well thought out, they didn't think to make enough or to make it enthrawling enough to want to play it over and over... The puzzles are almost non-existant, and the story is over very quickly. I'd like a true Jedi Story similar to the originals that although basically wasn't any longer, was very much more involving. I think the new RPG system within Jedi Council also makes this possible as the characters will be able to grow gradually, if worlds are formatted to be approached from multiple ways to achieve a goal allowing the user to improve and take a route that is more thier style than a general "you must do" then you'll have a great mod on your hands.

Figure out the first book, with Luke going about finding candidates... however it'd be better if it wasn't Luke actually doing it, but someone else who was on a similar mission at the time - Like Mara Jade (she deserves a comeback game). It also allows you to write around the story and incorporate it without destorying parts of it just to achieve the game objectives ... remember the only game that has ever translated well from books was Discworld and thats because they made all new stories up.

Thanks for the ideas, Vegeta LetaJin ;) ! Okay - the name will be: Star Wars Jedi Academy IV: Hidden Evil, it will be a sequel to Jedi Academy III: Champions of the Force. I was going to make it a sequel for Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, but i've changed my mind thanx to Vegeta's ideas. I'm still not too sure on which character you'll be playing as though. It's set before Jedi Knight I, because obviously at that time Luke's been training a lot more jedi. It could be a prequel to it, but I don't actually have Jedi Knight I, just the demo. One of the main problems i have right now is voices. Does anybody have any ideas of getting round this problem? (apart from paying loads of cash to get the original actors to do the voices :D )

I'll see what he looks like, Mcich, and i might put him on as a jedi trainee or something similar.

lui, once i see it i'll check it out. one of the main area i'll need a bit of help in is textures and models because i'm no good at computer graphics. i'm sort of good at editing, but that's it.

Finally, i've got round to starting work on Hidden Evil! I've changed my mind about a few things since my last post, however. It will be a 'sequel' to Jedi Knight II, not part of the Jedi Academy series (to keep it a trilogy ;) ) I wont give much away on the storyline, though, but you will probally be able to play as a few characters in it, and it will larger number of characters from the expanded universe in it. Most probally, the storyline will have a few areas where you have a choice in front of you which effects a lot of the storyline. I have already started working on some graphics, i.e. the main menu, and once i've got them complete i'll start thinking of the storyline. Who knows? It might be out by x-mas! :D

Oh, and don't expect many new textures in it coz im crap at textures and models. Is there anyone who is good at either and would they be willing to help me out here?

Guess what? I've changed my mind again. This time it's final though. I'm going to make my own little trilogy of mods :) . The first one, in development now, is called 'Star Wars Nemesis I: A New Fear'. I wont give much away about the storyline, but i can tell you that for the most part you play as Luke. The problem I have right now is that when I make a map in JK2Radiant, when i go to bsp it, it brings up a dos box which closes after about half a second, without doing making anything like a .bsp file  . Anyway, back to topic. The mod will contain new cutscenes as well as gameplay, and might include some new music. Currently i've done the background on the loader, and nearly done the title screen and the map-loading screen. :D If anyone's good at making models/textures and they'd like to help me out with that aspect, please e-mail me at drkviper240@lycos.com
