I was wondering, is there a way to make it so the sky provides light outside instead of placing tons of lights everywhere?

It will make you able to see where you are but when you look down to the ground it will be black so you have to make a light and press n then type light into key and 100000000 into value just make the light big enough to fill the whole room.

for a little one put 100 the bigger the map the bigger the light so basically make the shape around the light cover the whole room just one light in each unless your doing under a table or something then put a little one!

Hey allow setting the sky to produce the light, if u wanna light the whole map this is a good way of doing it, u will still have to place a few lights in map, just for highlighting or throwing shadows, but using this right can save u alot of time on the BSP, also it can save putting in loads of lights. Open up a worldspawn brush ( any brush u ant using for sumfink special like a func_door etc ) and in the key feild, type AMBIENT, and then set a value of around 30 for a really dark map to 60 for a medium lit map, only problem is this can create alot of weird shadow error type things on sum textures and if the value is too high u need more than sunglasses to veiw yur map, but if used right, u can light yur map really well with out havign to add a 1000 lights :P hope this helps anyway, Nathan :) also, pressing k after u close the worldspawn window allows u to set a color to the ambient lighting.
