Hello mapping masters, i have a problem:( i'm using gtk radiant 1.2.12 [updated]. i'm following the tutorial of Richdiesal. My problem is: when i make my room and i add spotlights i dont see them in the sp game:(((((( AND I'M FOLLOWING STEP BY STEP THE TUTORIAL

(To create a spotlight: 1) Add an info_null entity for the light to point at. 2) Add a new Light entity to be your spotlight's source 3) Deselect (ESC) everything 4) Shift-Click the Light and then Shift-Click the info_null entity 5) Press Ctrl-K to target the Light at the info_null)

what i do see is : the radial light which fills the room , but in the mapping i do not see the radial light entity. It's just bright in my room:(when i load to sp mode. Brushes , textures , shaders are all 1000% fine. BUT NO SPOT LIGHTS OR ANY LIGHT ENTITIES can be seen in the sp loaded map(but i see the spotlights in the gtk radiant) just the radial light .

HEELLLPPPP

How can i make my colored spotlights or any show in sp mode? Do i have to lower the radial light?[and if so how?]

thank you for your answers:)

Sara hugs and kisses

;)

Ok no one else is helping so I will here is the thing first off make sure you dont have an ambient light set also in the properties list you need to make the light a spotlight a normal light will fill an area and cant be pointed, and the itensity is what makes the brightness your gonna want to make this a spotlight using the radius key and you need to point it at the notnull anyway I cant think of a better way to explain it to you but you may want to just make the checks I said and try what I said, btw Ill have you know that I find spotlights almost useless I never really use them and I didnt follow the tutorials exact I didnt make the acual map he said to make in the tutorial I just read them and then practiced my skills on one room maps with varios thing and then I would go to make a duel map they are pretty easy ans then try to make some larger ffa maps if you wanna see what I am working on go to the thread called the tavern project.;)

Well a light is an entity and there is entity property list to access the properties list you need to select the entity in this case the light and press the "n" key.

hmmm thats akward ahhh huh I got it I remember now I had the same prob, your lights are too high or too low they are either above the roof or below the floor what you need to do is select your lights and then change to the side view, in the side veiw you need to move them into the room, down if they are above the roof, or up if they are below the floor. That should work tell me if it does or doesnt
