I am a newbie mapper; I think I've got the hang of the moddeling but my use of textures looks horible!!! Almost all of the maps in the download section look great texture-wise. The main problem I have is when I try to texture something and the texture starts to loop. For example: when I try to texture an elevator switch if I don't make it a perticular size the switch picture repeats, and I wind up with 1 complete switch and a piece of a switch on one side:fistpunch: . And when I texture a wall or a cieling, it looks incredibly dull:mad: . Please help me!!!

Place your texture. Then select the surface/sufaces and press 's' and voila you have a conveniant little window where you can stretch the textures or if you click the "fit" button it will resize it automatically to fit the surface. you can also move a texture on the surface by selecting the surface then holding the Alt key, left click and drag your mouse in the 3d window to movce it.

Press and hold shift+ctrl, and click on the side of brush that you want to fix. Press s key, and surface ispector window will pop-up. Press fit and your problems are solved. Also there are other options like horizontal/vertical stretch/shift and more.

Not really becuase it deends on what style your going for... Old rocky ruins? check Yavin. Dirty technological? look in nar shaddaa. Best way to find a good texture is play the SP game and try and spot a good one to match your theme.

and Phantom.... Beat you :P :D
