Sorry to bother you all, seeming rather idiotic though it may, but I just can't seem to get any of the editing tools to work right.

I've downloaded them, and I will admit I am more of an applications developer than a mod creator or modeller/skinner, but at least I thought I would try a little.

Simply put, when i run ShaderED2.exe it opens, and reads all shaders, but when I try to create a new shader, i first get the tree item Base

I right click to add a group Base models/players/newmodel

i then right click on this to 'add files' for texture shaders, and select a jpg or tga from the 'models/players/newmodel' directory and get this Base models/players/newmodel C:\Games\LucasArts\Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast\GameData\Base\Models\Players\NewModel

i do not get a Base models/players/newmodel image.jpg

like i should. How in the world do I fix this?

Thanks JaedenRuiner

O.o u i dont think u can create new shaders in shadered, but u can edit shaders, so ull have to make a shader wit notepad, and then edit it wit shader ed if u want to, i made some shaders for maps and i didnt use shader ed. and dont confuse shaders wit textures

Hey,

Thanks, i was getting a little too technical on my description of my problem, but that last post explained my problem. I didn't know shaders were text scripts that could be edited by notepad. I now can do all that I wanted to do, so thanks for the help.

ya, shaders are text scripts that work along wit some textures, so you can open the .shader files from assets0, then open textures for em, study em, see how they work in game, and learn to make ur own using the code for that shader, and check the alpha channels of the textures if they in tga format, that has to do wit shaders, cos something like a grate can be made wit the use of the proper script, and alpha channels, u can make glass wit clan labels on it, u can make a shield that absorves weapon fire, there are many possibilities!
