Hello, i have a question about shaders

i've figured out how to USE shaders... how to apply a made shader to a skin

but how do you actually MAKE a shader? do you learn what those lines in the .shader actually mean, or does shaderEd actually work for you?? (LOL)

please, i'd be much happier if i could make my own shaders instead of havingt to use other people's

one way is to keep oneing and editing them until you learn what the commands are for. another thing worth doing though is getting a program called Quake 3 arena Shader editer (search for q3ase on google or whatnot). That was made for Q3 but since JK2 is the Q3 engine plus a little, most of the shaders from Q3ase still work (I've not found any that havn't yet).
