The reason your seeing mapname.areana.txt is because your configuration is set to hide extentions for known file types.

This path is for Windows XP set to default settings:

Start/Control Panel/Appearance and Themes/Folder Options:

Click the "View" tab and remove the tick from "Hide Extentions for known file types"

This will now show ALL files as filename.whatever

You MUST be aware that from this point onwards you'll have to remember the part after the . or windows will not recognize the file.

This is also handy for using Winzip for making maps as appose to Pakscape (I find Winzip a lot easier personally)

All you do is pack up your folders as you would when packing up a skin then change file name from yourfilename.zip to yourfilename.pk3 and click yes to the prompt that asks you about changing file type.

O! So th@s Y!...i thought renaming the file, didnt do n e thing...but the way my comupuer is set up (ur right..i do have XP professional), i didnt have th@ capability enabled. thnx 4 pointing th@ out. i found a way around it tho. th@ is a nifty tip, as you said, for furure reference. thnx again. but, i still have the 'Warining' and bright white texture problem tho...[COLOR=red]ASSISTANCE IS STILL NEEDED!!!![/COLOR]

never mind i got it. i was useing .BSP FULLVIS instead of .BSP FULLVIS(extra) as my final copy. i was forum hopping and i gatherd alot of useful info. i just submitted my v.0.1 of the VERY EARLY BETA Sniper's Haven map to www.PCGameMods.com . i hope it ets up there. :D
