does anybody have any tutorials on how to switch skins or models with existing characters, i want do use my model in single player.

or even better would be to not replace existing models. could someone reply to this please

there are other post telling the reader how to do it but they arent detailded and will get you lost. first extract the pk3 file of the model you want to be chosen with winzip. A good place to extract them to is your base folder doesnt really matter though as long as you know where it is. then go into the model folder then the player folder. inside should be a folder with the name of the skin or model. then rename the folder to what ever npc you want to be replaced for example if i wanted to switch kyle to luke i would rename the luke folder into kyle. then go into the folder you renamed and there should be pictures and a model_default readme not glm. open the readme with notepad or wordpak. then there should be tons of lines. one of them reading, i think, l leg modles/players/skinname/part_skin_name.tga or jpg. for example when i wanted to replace kyle to luke i would rename skiname which should read luke into kyle. one warning though when you see a line with stormtrooper as the skinname dont touch those type of lines.now exit the kyle folder then player folder then model folder and zip it up into a pk3 again and put in your base. tell me if it worked or not .

and be alittle more specific. tell me who you want changed and with what model or skin so i could better know how to help you cause im an expert at changing npcs sabercolors sounds saberhilts.

Hey there, i come here alot but this is the first time i actually post because i've tried everything to get padme in sp but the saber is always on the back of her head or something :( ive been reading those other posts about editing the .skin files n stuff but nothing seems to work, i've also read this: http://66.250.145.38/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73289 but it just doent work so now i read this post and i thought maybe you could help me out? i'm using the "padme-amidala-geonisis_v1.zip" file.

what do you mean by putting her in sp tell me a little more about what you mean. but when i change kyle into sombody else like luke or anakin and there saber is in the crotch, leg, or head. i fix this bug when i play multiplayer and choose kyle, which was turned into anakin or luke, the saber bug goes away. try it and tell me if it worked

I'm just trying to replace kyle with padme so i did the whole pak file thingy with renaming and stuff but when i load a singleplayer savegame the model and skin is perfect exept for the saber which is attached to the back of her head:rolleyes: , if i select kyle in multiplayer (kyle\default, in the selection screen u see padme's icon), the saber is in her hands and there are no problems so this only happens in sp, i've read some posts about adding "r_hand_wrist,models/players/reborn/forc_torso.tga", and "l_hand_wrist,models/players/reborn/forc_torso.tga" to the model_default.skin file but that doent seem to work either (maybe im screwing up):( ( http://66.250.145.38/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73289 )

after you played mp your saber worked right? well if it did you try playing it again in sp. if so this is what i would do. start a new game never load the first time you do this sort of modding type in devmapall then give weaponum 1 you should get the lightsaber with the key 1. it will be invisible then press the key to the right of 0 , the number not letter, after this you should have no weapons in hand, bare handed, then press the key number 1 or select your lightsaber it should show now. if it still doesnt work press the key next to the 0 again and select your lightsaber again. if it still doesnt work throw your lightsaber and when its flying press the number 1 which should make the lightsaber fall to the ground then get it back and if still doesnt work press the key next to the 0 again and select your lightsaber. hope this works for you p.s. after typing devmapall type setforceall 3 so you could throw your saber.

Lui, when you say you are an expert at editing npcs, do you mean you can create custom npcs? I've been trying this for so long but I can't do it. A little help please?

i dont want to bring you down but i never done any npc editing before or not really an expert lol.but that doesnt mean i wont try to help you. i dont know how to create but i do know how to edit them in a way. open your assets0.pk3 and look for a file with a path of ext_data in their there are status of npcs. its says their ai speed fighting cappabilities and more. i would just edit them from there. hope that helps. if not tell me
