I made a texture for my map and put it in the maps name folder in the tuxtures folder and the texture doesnt worki in game..why??

if its a multiplayer map then u have to put the textures in a .pk3 file before u can see them in game.

You could do that.. the long way.. ;)
OR, before you load your map, open the console and type: /sv_pure 0 THEN load your map.. all textures/stuff that isn't in pk3's will show.
If it still doesn't show, then verify that your textures dimensions are in powers of 2 (i.e. 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, etc.)
The only time you need to package your map/skin/stuff in a pk3 is when you want to distribute. "sv_pure 0" lets you test things in game by allowing non-pk3 images and such to be used.

yeah, the problem that I am having is along the same lines, only it's a little bit erlier in the production stage... I have my textures made in powers of 2... but I can't get radiant to load them. is there something that I am mising?
it tells me that it's scanning for jpg and tga files, then does nothing. if anyone else has had this problem, please let me know what you did.
