Ok I have a shader that I want to make the edges transparent, the edges are black, and the rest of the shader is bright, is there away in a shader file to make the color black disappear. I know they do it to make the class and stuff but when I try doing it the whole flag becomes kinda see through.
I cant explain too good because i dont know too mkuch about ShaderED but if you want to make black on a texture transparant go into shaderED and in Stages (Blending) options tick the Detail tag and with any luck that will work.
For a more detailed description you'll need to ask someone with more knowledge but i hope iv helped a little! :lookaround: :uhm:
Thanks Yeah I code the old fashioned way I do it in notepad. So shaderedit is a whole new thing I would have to learn. So If anyone knows hwo to take the alpah channel and make it a transparency let me know
Well do you know where shaderED is?
if not it's with JK2Radiant just search for "tools" in jk2files search engine then a few links will apear click on the one named "Tools" and download it!
ps. To delete parts of a pic and not make them see through delete the image or edit the .skin file.
first off this is for a map and not a skin. Second of yes I know where the ShaderEditor is, but I usually find it easy enough to do it in a text document, what I was actually asking was what is the command to make an alpha channel transparent. But I figured it out already thanks anyway.
I really am starting to think that maybe the maping and the skinning should be seperate sections of the forum.
