:deal: On EAW files, everyone has been complaining about Filefront service. I am sick and tired of it. In case yall didnt notice, Filefront is FREE. Yes, thats F-R-E-E. As in you can use it without paying money. So take what you can freaking get. So stop complaining about voting system problems. The purpose is to share files, not vote on polls and PTODs. Those are just added goodies.

Ive used EAW files for three years, and every one of my files have been uploaded properly within 5 days. If this doesnt happen for you, IT IS YOUR FAULT. Follow the dang instructions exactly. Dont upload loose files, avoid rar, etc

Well there might be a server error. In that case, technically it's not anyone's fault.

Yes, this is quite true. However, the fact still remains that there are a lot of complainers on the network.

Oh, the irony of this thread...

Lol, im complaining about complainers. That is irony.

my point was that I find that many people claim ALL their files have not been put up. If theyve made multiple submissions and they all fail, its probably their fault.

I started doing file reviews and approvals in June (5 months ago). I'll go on the record as saying two things: First, I've done the majority of files since that time (that's not a complaint, just a fact. I love reviewing files and would do it full time if someone paid me. Props to everyone on eaw staff, they all do an awesome job, esp. codeuser and Enceladus1 who also review files).

Second, about one in every five files that are submitted get deleted. Most of them are because they're not archived in a file (.zip, .rar, etc...). By default, when a file is deleted it sends an e-mail restating the rules for submitting a file. For every file that I delete I tell the user why it was deleted. I suspect that many users don't have a real e-mail address set up for them in our system, so they never get that e-mail, and complain that it hasn't been posted yet. But they don't realize that it will never get posted.

I encourage anyone that has submitted a file and thinks it has been too long without being approved to send an e-mail to team@eawfiles.com. I, along with others, check this mailbox daily and will be glad to tell you what is going on with your file.

I hope I have enlightened some people and helped some people understand how the system works.

To Be Honest, I like filefront and all the services they provide. I think its allot of fun to build your own map or something, then submit it and see how many people like it, and what you could be better at. I think they should have fixed the vote system by now...I still cannot vote properly. They might have already and it might be my problem, but im not sure on that one.

not always the case... some time there are out side factors that come into play that will interfear with an upload of a file - if theres something odd happing when your upload the file there might be an issue on the network side not some thing they did.

and in that case contact the site staff via a pm to see to make sure it made there.

not fixed the last i checked, and i can not go into it more...

i have used filefront since 2002 with a multiple account as I have forgot the passwords, user names, email info to all but the current ones i use... and there has been issues here in there and that do get fixed... but not every thing is an easy fix you have to keep that in mind, too. not every thing is a 5 min fix.
