Does it bother anyone else when a relatively small unit has over 12 hardpoints? I don't know if it's just me, but I actually prefer when capital ships have ~ 10 hardpoints, frigates ~4-8, and Corvettes ~0-3. Maybe it's just me, but it pisses me off having to target about a million different places and not being able to see the ship over all the hardpoint circles. (I know you can make them non-targets, but it's still a bother)

On the other hand, the Victory Cruiser could use one or two more hardpoints on it. >_>

Yeah I agree why do little ships have so many hardpoints, I know people like realism, but I mean the whole ship would have blown up already one you take out the first 3.

Its all about strategy, Having the hard points allows you to take out the ship without completely destroying it, via, destroying the engine, the Shields, or most of the weapons hardpoints.

and as for the amount of hardpoints, its all to do with balancing the game, what if the Star Destroyer had 20 hard points, with the Nebulon only having its 5, or a frigate, or corvette, having a small amount of hardpoints, would that seem fair againest a Star Destroyer with 20 hardpoints?

Actually, I decided (for my own personal mod) to maintain the ISD's old design of 8-ish hardpoints (I liked it, personally), and used the popular 'new' one with ~15 or something as the "Imperial-Class Super Star Destroyer", a little known but canon small SSD from the Dark Empire series (basically, it was a ISD that was about 3-6 times the size of a regular ISD, except that it had really good tractor beams and no fighter escorts - I think).

You know... if u go into the hardpoint xml file, u can turn off targetable hardpoints. Heres an example: Look for:

Yes

and change it too:

No

That should get rid of the target circles

See my very first post:

(I know you can make them non-targets, but it's still a bother)

Also, you should remove the health of the hardpoint as well.

Im with u on the whole thing about the hardpoints and the way i see it is if its a corvette-NO Hardpoints! lol and after that i put hardpoints cause i went all out on the providence but i hid some of them and i agree about u with the victory cruiser not having enough hardpoints supposedly its more powerful but when u have the new venator the victory cruiser is just weak in comparison so i reversed their roles! :)
