Empire at War I had been hopeful a game that would build on the good points of supemecy (rebellion in US). Although the space battles are nice I would much prefer it if fighter squadron had to be build at space yards to replace losses rather than just regenerating and that damage to capital ships would carry over and require time to repair. Also the is a farly limited number of ship and fighter types. and why are the so few planets. One thing that really stands out in my mind is how quick it is to produce unitsdo we really think that a star destroyer can be build in a couple of dayI do think there is great potental in this game that could be unleashed by good modders but is it really too much to expect game to be good out of the box

Well what would you prefer that it take a few years to create. For goodness sake I bought this the day it came out and with it on the fastest speeds i wouldn't even be close to building a single one.

Actually i think they're not being built, they are just around the galaxy. Basically when you're 'building' them they are really just warping in from another sector or something. Thats my oppinion anyway.

they dont need to take years, but the time system does seem off. especialy compared to rebbelion (i have the game, one of my favorites. a good rebbelion game would last 1200-1500 in game days, compared to EAW 50-60). while i too was hoping for EAW to be basicly a sequal to rebelion that built off of its good points and made tihngfs more advanced, i have found EAW to be more of a downscaled version of rebbelion in some ways. while the added features of being able to control combat and thus have a better control of the outcome of the fight (compared to rebellions ground assult wehre you jsut got a result window), the rest of the game mechanics are simplified, and the unit choices more limited. the fact that they created new ships for the game before using existing ones (such as a tartan instead of a lancer, or aclimator instead of a carrak) also bothered me. i have come to understand and accept most of this by considering EAW to be a differnt type of game as rebbelion, and that while game concept may be similar, EAW is more a compliment to teh battlefront series tehn a sequal to rebbelion.

while EAW is a great game that i paly alot and plan to get involved in modding, i think i still enjoy my rare return to rebeelion more then a skirmish or GC in EAW.

didn't really like Rebellion to much...I think EAW has faster building times...less wait more fun to kill

i have rebbelion it is hard to beat ive never won that game i awlways got pounded even by a easy computer,but eaw its too easy to beat

I think my main disappointment is not having the huge battles like the EaW selling pitch described. I'm finding myself limited to just 2 land units during some battles. I have yet to find a mod to make the land battles more realistic. :/

Yea, I think the land unit cap for skirmish should be 20 and space should be 25.
