Hi All,

It always seems to me that Lucas Arts gets so far with all their games but fails to go the extra mile. IMO anway...

The main thing that got me into Star wars was Jedi Knights seeing them flying around with their sabers deflecting bullets and all.

Now can someone tell me if its just my version or there's a mod out there....but when Obi Wan gets bullets shot at him he doesn't actually deflect with a motion...they just bounce off....in fact he sometimes doesn't even have his lightsaber on and he deflects them??????? He also only has one swinging motion to kill a unit.

As a programmer myself i can fully understand how hard it must be to develop such a game...and i'm not suggesting i take over......but surely they could have at least given him a few different styles of swinging his saber while attacking and just before deflecting use one of a set 3 or so deflection animations???? Just for variety and to make it look a little more realistic

Please tell me if there's some way to fix this...cause i was really looking forward t osetting up a campaign and have it play out like the movies...ut with this problem it looks a little amauter...

The best credit i give the game (provided they fix that up or i get it fixed) is the XML base strcuture...like AOM and other Microsoft games. This is an awesome way to encourage modding and extending the engine to its full potential...much like Dark Reign back in a day.

Thanks

Wes

the only way to make the change you ask about attacks and deflects is to make changes to obi wan model (need tool for this and i don't know them all sorry) or to make your own model of obi wan and animation set and convert to alo & ala format the program that had a plugin is 3d max (ver 6 and 8 only i believe)

Hmm ok....so is there like an animation for deflection or only one for attack? I haven't had a lot of experience with 3d graphics...especially animation when it comes to games.....

That being the case are their any models around that have changes like this?

Ok well i tried with vader and it doesn't do it for him either....is there some console command you need to toggle on advanced anim or something...i see no option in the standard game options for anything along those lines...i tried putting detail level to mximum....is it in Forces of Coirruption that anim plays for you or just standard EAW cause i don't have the expansion pack....

no i think it worked on EAW as well as FOC. The Animation Files dont have their data in a XML, To access the data you need a HEX EDITOR, type it in on google and you should find one. though Hex editing is a lot more complex that XML.
