The Empire's only strength lies in Space, where they have less of a population cap than Rebels!?!

Granted they don't have 2 build fighters/Bombers as they deploy automatically from ships, but their ships have gotten weaker after the various patches!

Ground side, 99% Imperial units suck!

Stormies - Speed upgrade only + no Plex version.

Speeder Bikes - Can't fire on the move + Thermal Det take 2 long 2 recharge.

Tie Mauler - Too weak 2 b of much use against anything other than infantry (by crushing them)

AT-ST - Only well balanced unit - due 2 "Barrage Area" ability

2M tank - Weapon refire too slow, shields + armour too weak (needs at least 1 more weapon 2 be of better use).

SPMA - Range sucks - outranged by MPTL.

AT-AA - Poor refire rate also.

AT-AT Poor armour + fire power, troops take too long 2 deploy + 1 AT-AT gets owned by 1 group of T4B tanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Land Battles too unbalanced in favour of Rebels - Very rare I ever c Empire beat Rebels in ground combat.

I've won a few 2v1 games as Rebs against 2 Empire, just by T4B spamming + 1 squad of Infiltrators.

I shall now end this rant without covering Imperial Hero weaknesses - let someone else do that. :mad::mad::mad::mad:

are you saying that you never win ground battles as the Empire? man don't take this the wrong way but manyou must not be that great of an Empire player.i've been able to take over dozens of planets with just boba and mara jade, and the rebels had units on them as well. in my opinion some of the things you said are true but most aren't,again don't mean to inslut or anything just mearly stating an opinion

Thats why the Empire has the death star, so they dont have to go on ground battles. Get a mod, the empire gets a major boost with CiS v4. The ground TIEs rool. But the commandos need some work.

you know it helps if you go to the xml files and change things units health and its very fun especially when yopu have 10 infiltraters and squads of 27 wich get killed one shot its preetty amazing wut you can do .

That just it, players shouldn't have 2 do that in the first place.

What is the point in only using heroes 2 take a planet? That hardly in keeping with the spirit of the game now is it?

As much as some may hate me 4 sayin this, but Force Commander had its units more balanced and better.

As for u Lt.Hawkeye.... No probs man, it your opinion and u free 2 have it.

But I really defy anyone to say that (without heroes on either side) Land combat is not more favourable 2 the Rebels. (especially their larger squad sizes)

He he. I still LIKE FOCOM !! - (Maybe I shouldn't admit it though) :naughty:

I think you have a point about the units being unbalanced - thats why I actually never play the default installed game any more. Play mods instead = more fun ;)

oh, and it looks like the armourments for this model were incomplete anyway ?

It also has twin laser cannons and 2 missile launchers ;) as well as the heavy laser cannons.

FOCOM pwned camera movement,unit balancing and had a kick-donkey sound track.

I didn't find any problem with the Camera movement - was easy to use and understand. I hated the FOCOM sound track though - was the worst version of the Imperial March I ever heard ! The game itself was more or less easy to get through once you knew which units were best to use. Took me a while to find the balance - but it was better in balance than this EAW I think.
